Band Batushka is a five-piece band from Poland, which consists of Bartłomiej Krysiuk (vocals), Piotr Tafelski (guitar), Bartłomiej Bury (guitar), Michał Kołodziej (bass), and Piotr Lech (drums). Their sound is rooted in the traditional Polish black metal sound, but they also incorporate influences from classical and gothic metal. They are signed to Metal Blade Records and have released two albums - Litourgiya (2015) and Hospodi (2019).

Litourgiya is a concept album which focuses on the life and works of Russian Orthodox monk Seraphim of Sarov. The music is a mix of traditional black metal and gothic metal, with symphonic and choral elements. The album was critically acclaimed and helped to propel the band to international fame.
Fact 3 - Batushka’s lyrics are based on the teachings of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
Hospodi is a concept album about the life of Jesus Christ. While it continues to feature the same core sound as Litourgiya, the album also features new elements, such as samples from ancient chants and a guest vocalist from the band’s home country. The album was another critical success and earned the band even more acclaim.
Fact 4 - The band has released music videos for several of their songs, including "Yekteniya 6" and "Yekteniya 7".
