Liberian Girl
One of my songs which I love so much is Liberian girl, it's music video that I watch is full of anticipation, kinda like everyone waiting for the king of the ceremony. When he got in, not everyone seemed to notice him until he was spotted behind the camera. Michael Jackson is always full of laughter and looking cheerful, especially when he is having a good time. I think one of the things I learnt about the Liberian girl is the love he has for Africa.
Africa is really a great place which I myself admire, filled with natural resources and different cultures and their people are progressively doing well. Listening to this song also made me wonder how beautiful the people of Liberia will be, most especially the women of Liberia. I think it's high time I'll start mapping out the coolest places I'll love to visit in Africa.
South Africa is a must visit for me, I think I've seen all I needed to know about the geographic location, if I must miss everything I won't miss paying a visit to see the animals in the wildlife. I also love the Zulu culture.
I think another thing that helped inspire Michael on the Liberian girl song is his connection to Africa. I think it's a way of him praising the beauty of Africa and also connecting with his African roots. Though somehow I feel that what must have really inspired him to sing the song could be an encounter he had with a girl from Liberia.
Though he may not have made mention of it publicly, I know that as a singer a song can come up to your mind through emotions of the encounter you once had.
It's true not all may be mentioned publicly but there are memories which one can cherish and have a deep desire for it to last for a lifetime.
Whatever it is, I know Michael actually meant good and this is just one out of his many songs that I like. The reason I liked it is because it's calm and I can sing along. Smooth criminal is fast and I prefer dancing moving my body in rhythm with the song whenever I feel like. No matter what the trouble or accusations may be, I think the world has witnessed a star come and go and his music will live a long time.
I know my neighbors' children also rock to Michael's songs and move their body in his way of dancing. He really inspired many with his songs. At least Many whom he had strong influence today still recognize him as the king of pop.
Recently my amazement was how his Thriller song came up on the billboard chart.
There are many who are trying hard in music, at least the upcoming artist but I'm not sure their song has in any way enlisted.
No matter what, I feel one great lesson anyone should learn or be inspired about Liberian girls is to never forget your roots. It's good you praise yourself and know your self worth but also extend a hand of friendship and recognition to those around you. Your wealth may not count in future but the little beautiful things you do today will stand to count.
With a good song around the corner, music can still serve as a carrier that can transport you between the world of imagination and reality.
