On this ALT2K Wednesday morning we each pick two bands from the 2000’s Alternative Rock scene.
Ashlee picks the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s for her DailyJam, the song Heads Will Roll from the 2009 album “It's Blitz!” This Yeah Yeah Yeahs tune broke out and made it into dance floors and techno remixes across the lands! For Bonus Jam Ashlee picks the band The Black Keys and the song Gold On the Ceiling from 2011’s “El Camino” album.
Gene goes with the band The Kills for DailyJam! Picking the song U.R.A Fever from 2008 album “Midnight Boom”. For Bonus Jam I pick the band The Dead Weather which features the lead singer of the Kills on vocals along with Jack White of White Stripes fame. Kinda an alt rock supergroup! I go with the song Blue Blood Blues from the 2010 album “Sea of Cowards”
We tried to keep our tunes in the same range. Covering 2008-2011 And covering one song from each year between 2008-2011. Enjoy!
I hadn't heard Heads Will Roll until this year and it was like it got popular again and they were playing it in the Baseball stadium in Southern Maryland

It was an interesting song fir than. They are mostly indie 2000’s alt rock. This tune as a pop dance vibe alt synth tune was very different. Very cool though! A lot of play at sporting events and stuff like that.
