Beer Saturday - Campinas Amber Ale

I have a band with some friends of over 20 years that plays covers of songs that we love. We are in the process of expanding our setlist so each member was tasked with picking a song for the band to learn and play. I set some time today to listen to some songs to try and find a good fit, and what better way to do it than having a nice beer?

So I decided to try Amber Ale, by Campinas brewery, while going through my playlists to find the "perfect" song. One of the first songs that came up was "A Praieira" by legendary brazilian band "Nação Zumbi". This was a rather interesting coincidence because this song is curiously connected with beer.

It's a bit hard to translate exactly what it says because the grammatical structure—or lack thereof—is quite unique, but the gist is something like, "A beer before lunch is very good for thinking better."

That is very descriptive of my situation at the time because I was having a beer just before lunch while thinking of a good song to play with my friends.

Unfortunately, "A Praieira" will not make the cut as it's too different from the rest of the songs we play, but it sure was a good soundtrack for the exercise.

But I digress. Let's get to the beer itself!

The Amber Ale is a red ale by Campinas, a small Brazilian brewery. If you have read any other Beer Saturday post by me, you may know that the art on beer labels is very important to me, and this one does not disappoint! Really nice label that is well aligned with the beer's peculiarities.

When poured, it lives up to its name with a gorgeous amber hue. It also helps that I did a much better job with this pour than last time (check my latest post for reference!).

It's a very nice beer! Not too bitter and not too strong. It may not be the best pick for a very warm day because it's not likely you can chug down too many of these but it's a great way to be "thinking better before lunch!"

Eu tenho uma banda com uns amigos de mais de 20 anos que toca covers de músicas que amamos. Nós estamos no processo de aumentar nosso repertório, então cada membro foi incumbido de escolher uma música para a banda aprender e tocar. Eu reservei um tempo hoje para ouvir algumas músicas e tentar encontrar uma boa candidata, e que jeito melhor de fazer isso senão com uma boa cerveja?

Então, eu decidi experimentar a Amber Ale, da cervejaria Campinas, enquanto passava pela minha playlist para encontrar a música "perfeita". Uma das primeiras músicas que apareceu foi "A Praieira" da lendária banda brasileira "Nação Zumbi". Essa foi uma coincidência interessante, porque essa música está curiosamente conectada com cerveja.

É um pouco difícil traduzir exatamente o que ela diz porque a estrutura gramatical - ou a falta dela - é bem única, mas em linhas gerais, é algo como "Uma cerveja antes do almoço é muito bom pra ficar pensando melhor".

Isso é uma descrição muito boa da minha situação no momento porque eu estava bebendo uma cerveja antes do almoço enquanto pensava sobre qual seria uma boa música para tocar com meus amigos.

Infelizmente, "A Praieira" não vai entrar no repertório já que é muito diferente das outras músicas que tocamos, mas com certeza foi uma ótima trilha sonora para o exercício.

Mas estou divagando. Vamos para a cerveja!

A Amber Ale é uma red ale da Campinas, uma pequena cervejaria brasileira. Se você já leu meus outros posts do Beer Saturday, você deve saber que a arte dos rótulos de cerveja é muito importante para mim e essa não decepciona! O rótulo é muito bom e está muito bem alinhado com as peculiaridades da cerveja.

Quando servida, ela faz jus ao seu nome com uma cor âmbar maravilhosa. Ajuda o fato de que eu fiz um serviço muito melhor ao servir do que da última vez (veja meu último post para a referência!).

É uma cerveja muito boa! Não muito amarga e não muito forte. Talvez não seja a melhor pedida para um dia quente porque é improvável que você consiga mandar muitas dessas pra dentro, mas é uma ótima maneira de "ficar pensando melhor antes do almoço!"

E por hoje é só! Nos vemos na semana que vem com outra cerveja!
