BeerSaturday - Old Indio in New Colors
I know, I know... I've posted about Indio Beer before. It's a nice tasting red ale from Mexico, which is common enough that you'd find it in most corner stores. Got that. But now there seems to be reason enough to make not one more, but perhaps thousands of new posts, all relating to the new, fun, and inventive designs of the Indio bottle labels. Here are just three to give you an idea:
One For Each Postal Code
Apparently Indio is bringing out a new image for each Mexican postal code. Since there are more than 36,000 in the whole country, this could be quite a task. Most probably, not every single C.P. will be featured, and even if, it definitively won't be at the same time. However, by the looks of it, there are already too many images out there to count. One shop may have a few types, while another different ones. One week there may be certain ones that you'll never see again. I find this just is quite encouraging as well as discouraging to the collector spirit. And while I could have sufficient material to flood Hive (and #BeerSaturday in particular) with Indio designs, I'm sure it would get pretty boring very soon. But for now, let's look at my selection of today:
Inspector from Monterrey

Even if you are not familiar with the band Inspector, the bottle's image will certainly suggest that they must be firm on ska music. The black-and-white checkered background, the stylish suit Cuauhtémoc is wearing, and the flaming saxophone he's holding are certain giveaways. Though the city of Monterrey is not mentioned, a true Inspector fan will know it immediately. Though I certainly don't count myself among them, I think this could be a nice idea for a #ThreeTuneTuesday post.
Movies from Morelia

The second bottle today features the city of Morelia, Michoacán a town known for many attractions. The Monarch butterflies and the distinct hats being only two iconic things that can't be missing from the design. But most importantly the image seems to focus on the Morelia International Film Festival that takes place every year in October.
Molotov from Mexico City

Finally, the last bottle design I picked for today is dedicated to the famous Mexican rock group Molotov, whose music I was introduced to right when I first arrived in Mexico. In my description they are kinda like a fun-punk band with a huge element of hip-hop. They enjoy their face-paint and don't shy back from heavy political lyrics. Kinda like a cross between KISS and Rage Against the Machine. (Is this a horrible comparison, or what?) To my greatest shock, the image shows the current looks of band members, who seem to be from my own generation. OMG! When I first saw them, they were just kids (as was yours truly).
More Bottles? Or Rather Just Beer?
So, what do you guys think? Do you like these colorful new designs of the Indio bottle? Do you wanna see more posts about them? Like I said, there are enough to plaster the blockchain with them. But is that really what we want? And even though it is BEER related, I think the topic fits more into the art category, don't you think? So please let me know if you would like to see more posts like this. Also, if you haven't done so already, why don't you get to know the weekly Beer Saturday Challenge created by @detlev ? That's it from me for now. Cheers!
Cheers! Can designs look great! 🍻
And the band is not bad, too. 🎶

Thank you! Are you familiar with Molotov or Inspector?
Unfortunately, no.
Cool, so this is a good reason to write a music related post about them. Maybe on Tuesday... 😁
That's a good idea for #threetunetuesday 😎

@stortebeker! @seckorama Totally agrees with your content! so I just sent 1 IDD to your account on behalf of @seckorama.
@stortebeker, loved the review! And yes I hear Weezer in there too, definitely one in my sister's CD collection, and it does have that teen angst grunge feel doesn't it? I've forwarded it on to him and I'm sure he'll appreciate it alot! So cool you liked them!
Phew! You know, this was the hardest part: comparing music to others. It's kinda like Schroedinger's cat. While it may be spot on, at the same it will be completely off. But it seems like there are others (in the comments) who can also relate to my comparisons.
Too bad Asher won't be able to comment if he's not on Hive. Or is he??? Could this be the point of persuasion? Should he be interested, I'm sure you'll show him how it works.
Ha, he's busy with school and the band, and he's started with poetry. I don't want him contaminated by too much social media!
That's so nice and caring of you. But I don't think you could keep him away from it if he's really interested. In the same way as how you could not force him into it if he doesn't want to.
