I had never had the opportunity to participate in the monthly show of "Vocal Adalias", however this changed last Friday. I freed up my entire schedule to be able to be present in this space, and I don't regret making this decision.

Vocal Adalias is a female vocal group that just this Friday celebrated one year of having created this show to share in a closer way with its audience. At 10 am the girls approached the microphones and the melody festival started dancing through the air. They started by singing famous songs of the group, in search of rescuing songs from their repertoire. My favorite in this first part was an arrangement of the bolero "¿Cómo fue?", which came to move me to the core.

Then, in a short break, came a space that I really liked. They invited the male vocal group "Vocal ConPaz", and before they sang, they interviewed their director, Robereydes Rosales Montero, a musician who has earned my admiration since I met him.

I was very excited when one of the Adalias singers joined the boys to sing an arrangement of "Misty", a masterful work by Ella Fitzgerald. Afterwards, they continued with traditional Cuban music, which made several of those who were there dance.

I also found it very nice that space was made to honor the history of music next to the speech of a local historian, and that the national dance, the danzón, was honored through an elderly couple who performed the composition "Para Elisa".

One moment that made me sweat was when they started a live broadcast, while the girls of the group passed by the tables, so that the guests could sing "Black Tears", a popular song of our country and known worldwide. Together with a friend we defended our singing with dignity, and even the video is still available on Facebook, but clearly I'm not going to share that 🤣🤣🤣. At this point the surprises are not over yet. The poet Ericka Castellanos had a space to read her poems, and since she knows about me and my work, she called me on stage to accompany her. Then I could verify that when one is in the right place, the message manages to be transmitted, arrive, and return to the sender in a way capable of resonating with everyone.

Already at the end, the girls performed more moving songs, including a zuke and a guaguancó, and closed the space with a flourish. I was very happy while I was there and I hope to come back next month to enjoy the magic of music.

Jamás había tenido la oportunidad de participar en el show mensual de "Vocal Adalias", sin embargo esto cambió el viernes pasado. Liberé toda mi agenda para poder estar presente en este espacio, y no me arrepiento de haber hecho esta decisión.

Vocal Adalias es un grupo vocal femenino que precisamente este viernes cumplió un año de haber creado este show para compartir de una manera más cercana con su público. A las 10 de la mañana las chicas se acercaron a los micrófonos y el festival de melodías comenzó a danzar por el aire. Iniciaron cantando temas insignes de la agrupación, en búsqueda de rescatar canciones de su repertorio. Mi favorita en esta primera parte fue un arreglo del bolero "¿Cómo fue?", lo que llegó a conmoverme hasta las entrañas.

Luego, en un pequeño descanso, llegó un espacio que me gustó mucho. Invitaron al grupo vocal masculino "Vocal ConPaz", y antes de que ellos cantaran, entrevistaron a su director, Robereydes Rosales Montero, músico que se ha ganado mi admiración desde que lo conocí.

Me emocioné mucho cuando una de las cantantes de Adalias se unió a los chicos para cantar un arreglo de "Misty", obra magistral de Ella Fitzgerald. Después, continuaron con música tradicional cubana, que puso a bailar a varios de los que allí estaban.

Un momento que me pudo a sudar fue cuando iniciaron una transmisión en vivo, mientras las chicas del grupo pasaban por las mesas, para que los invitados cantaran "Lágrimas Negras", tema popular de nuestro país y conocido mundialmente. Junto a un amigo defendimos nuestro canto dignamente, e incluso el video sigue disponible en Facebook, pero claramente eso no lo voy a compartir 🤣🤣🤣. Distraeré su atención con esta limonada imperial.

En este punto las sorpresas aún no terminaron. La poeta Ericka Castellanos tuvo un espacio para leer sus poemas, y como ella conoce de mi y de mi obra, me llamó al escenario para acompañarla. Entonces pude comprobar que cuando uno está en el lugar indicado, el mensaje logra transmitirse, llegar, y volver hacia el emisor de una manera capaz de resonar en todos.

Ya al finalizar, las chicas interpretaron temas más movidos, entre ellos un zuke y un guaguancó, y cerraron el espacio con broche de oro. Fui muy feliz mientras estuve allí y espero volver el próximo mes para poder disfrutar de la magia de la música.
