The challenge of loving routine | El desafío de amar la rutina

It's seven AM and I've already been up for a couple of hours. It's one of the great things about summer, that you can get up early and not freeze your ass off.

Son las siete de la mañana y ya llevo levantado un par de horas. Es una de las cosas buenas del verano, que puedes madrugar y no congelarte hasta el culo.

One of the things I think about when I'm this early is what could be truly rewarding to experience that does not involve other people or the pleasures of the city.

Una de las cosas en las que pienso cuando me levanto así de temprano es qué podría ser verdaderamente gratificante experimentar que no implique a otras personas o los placeres de la ciudad.

This can sometimes be challenging because despite loving the forest, it is now my routine... and loving routine is challenging for everyone.

Esto a veces puede ser un reto porque a pesar de que me encanta el bosque, ahora es mi rutina... y amar la rutina es un reto para todos.

There's also something that cheers up almost anybody: kitties! these are Nezuko's children and are very lively, playful little buggers. I wasn't too happy about them at first but they have nuzzled their way into my heart.

También hay algo que anima a casi todo el mundo: ¡los gatitos! Son lxs hijxs de Nezuko y son unos bichitos muy vivarachos y juguetones. Al principio no me hacían mucha gracia, pero se han metido en mi corazón.

Another highly rewarding thing is, of course, to eat. a few days ago I surrendered to my desire to have some flour and went to town to get some. This makes eating plants so much more delicious.

Otra cosa muy gratificante es, por supuesto, comer. Hace unos días me rendí a mi deseo de tener un poco de harina y fui a la ciudad a comprar. Esto hace que comer plantas sea mucho más delicioso.

I made a dough out of rye flour, dandelion and tomatoes, and used the new rocket stove to cook the little... pancakes??? I cooked them in water as oil has become harder to get, and water works just fine. They even keep their shape which was my worry before I ever tried it.

Hice una masa con harina de centeno, diente de león y tomates, y utilicé la nueva cocina de cohetes para cocinar las pequeñas... tortitas??? Las cociné en agua, ya que el aceite se ha vuelto más difícil de conseguir, y el agua funciona muy bien. Incluso mantienen su forma, que era lo que me preocupaba antes de probarlo.

And, of course, gardening is always a pleasure, though for some reason I don't like to do it before noon

Y, por supuesto, la huerta es siempre un placer, aunque por alguna razón no me gusta hacerlo antes del mediodía.
