Concierto Esplendores de Gloria y Gracia | Splendors of Glory and Grace Concert

Hola, queridos Hivers!

Este domingo tuve el placer de ver a la Orquesta Barroca Simón Bolívar y a la Coral Nacional Simón Bolívar en concierto!

Y no cualquier concierto...

El año pasado mis mejores amigos y yo fuimos los 4 solistas de la Misa de Coronación de Mozart. Una experiencia increíble!
Y este año, nos tocó a 2 de los 4 (a María y a mí) ver a profesionales en vivo cantando esos maravillosos solos.

María fue quien se enteró del concierto, y como venía para pasar aquí mi cumpleaños, que fue el día anterior al concierto, me dijo para aprovechar de ir.

Así que el domingo nos fuimos temprano al Centro de Acción Social por la Música, e hicimos nuestra fila para entrar a la sala.
Afortunadamente no tardamos mucho tiempo allí, como unos 30 minutos después, nos pasaron al edificio, y poco a poco nos pasaban a las salas indicandonos nuestros asientos. Todo muy ordenado.

Ah! Y mientras esperábamos, me encontré con una compañera de la cátedra de violín del conservatorio, que también iba a tocar en el concierto!

Se hicieron las 11, se encendieron las luces y comenzaron a entrar los músicos al escenario.

Primero tocó la orquesta. Nos deleitaron con la Sinfonía N° 41 en Do Mayor de Mozart, y sinceramente fue una interpretación impecable! Los violines fueron los que más me sorprendieron, sonaban como uno solo! La limpieza del sonido de la orquesta en general también fue muy satisfactoria. De verdad disfruté mucho esa parte del concierto.

Otra cosa que me sorprendió fue la cultura del público. Nadie aplaudió entre los movimientos! Simplemente espectacular.

Al terminar la orquesta de tocar la sinfonía, entró el coro y seguidamente los solistas. Y qué emoción sentí!
Estaba muy ansiosa por ver la interpretación de la soprano.

Y bueno, comenzaron. Lo primero que noté en el primer movimiento de la misa, el Kyrie, fue la dicción y la pronunciación del idioma (latín). Muy limpia y... parecía latín en verdad jajaja.

Disfruté tranquilamente como una niñita en parque de diversiones el resto de los movimientos, hasta que llegó el Agnus Dei...
Yo estaba muy atenta a ver qué podía aprender de la soprano solista, y aprendí la importancia de una buena respiración.
Ella cantó divinamente el aria, e hizo una frase bastante larga en una sola respiración! Yo quedé super sorprendida! Y sentí una admiración inmediata.

Definitivamente los solistas tenían muy buena técnica vocal e interpretativa. Quedé más que satisfecha con el concierto.

Al terminar la misa, todos nos pusimos de pie y aplaudimos a esos maravillosos músicos, y merecidamente por el maravilloso trabajo que hicieron.

Y cuando pensábamos que ya había culminado, nos sorprendieron con una presentación acapella de la Coral. También bastante limpia, con todas las voces empastadas, y todos con caras alegres, felices de estar allí haciendo música!
Nos deleitaron con música brasileña!!

Fue un concierto muy lindo, de verdad. Y al final tuvimos la oportunidad de tomarnos fotos con el director y con los solistas!

Hello, dear Hivers!

This Sunday I had the pleasure of seeing the Simón Bolívar Baroque Orchestra and the Simón Bolívar National Choir in concert!

And not just any concert...

Last year, my best friends and I were the four soloists in Mozart's Coronation Mass. An incredible experience!
And this year, two of the four of us (Maria and I) got to see professionals sing those wonderful solos live.

Maria was the one who found out about the concert, and since I was coming here to spend my birthday, which was the day before the concert, she told me to make the most of it.

So, on Sunday, we went early to the Center for Social Action through Music and lined up to get into the hall.
Fortunately, we weren't there long; about 30 minutes later, we were shown into the building, and little by little, we were shown to the rooms and shown to our seats. Everything was very orderly.

Ah! And while we were waiting, I ran into a colleague from the conservatory's violin department, who was also going to play in the concert!

It was 11 o'clock, the lights came up, and the musicians began to enter the stage.

The orchestra played first. They delighted us with Mozart's Symphony No. 41 in C Major, and it was honestly an impeccable performance! The violins were the ones that surprised me the most; they sounded as one! The overall clarity of the orchestra's sound was also very satisfying. I truly enjoyed that part of the concert.

Another thing that surprised me was the audience's culture. No one applauded between movements! Simply spectacular.

When the orchestra finished playing the symphony, the choir entered, followed by the soloists. And I was so excited!
I was so eager to see the soprano's performance.

And well, they began. The first thing I noticed in the first movement of the Mass, the Kyrie, was the diction and pronunciation of the language (Latin). Very clean and... it really seemed like Latin, haha.

I quietly enjoyed the rest of the movements like a little girl at an amusement park, until the Agnus Dei arrived...
I was very attentive to see what I could learn from the soprano soloist, and I learned the importance of good breathing.
She sang the aria beautifully, and performed quite a long phrase in a single breath! I was totally surprised! And I felt immediate admiration.

The soloists definitely had very good vocal and interpretive technique. I was more than satisfied with the concert.

At the end of the Mass, we all stood up and applauded those wonderful musicians, and deservedly so for the wonderful work they did.

And just when we thought it was over, they surprised us with an a cappella performance by the Choir. It was also very clean, with all the voices blended, and everyone with cheerful faces, happy to be there making music!
They delighted us with Brazilian music!!

It was a very nice concert, truly. And at the end, we had the opportunity to take photos with the conductor and the soloists!
