Tasty

A quite peaceful and relaxing Saturday, a little trip to the mall for lunch. My partner and I chose a place that wasn't crowded; we don't like noise, but we love to eat... I like to have dessert first, and this time she followed my lead.

The heat has been intense on this side of the world, so when we got home we cooled off with a summer red wine.

We clinked glasses, we clinked hands, and our ideas clashed when it came to choosing a movie we both liked, we didn't agree much on that part, but I'm pretty accommodating most of the time. So I had no choice but to look for the funny parts in that crazy zombie movie 🙄

Sometimes it’s better to turn things around, look at them from a different perspective, and try to enjoy the moment—sometimes, just sometimes.

Now, I am already alone at home, I eat a yogurt that I prepared myself and that is really very good. The rest of Saturday I will stay relaxed at home, I will watch a movie that has nothing to do with zombies—that's for sure— and I will keep listening to some music for a little longer. Tomorrow I have to work at the bakery from early, so it's better to keep the body calm 😏

It’s heartening to read about your Saturday; there’s a profound wisdom in learning to enjoy the little rituals, like that shared dessert or a glass of wine at the end of a hot afternoon. Life as a couple is, at its core, the art of gracefully giving in to what we don’t share — like a zombie film — to prioritise the harmony of the moment. That ability to shift perspective and find humour in the unexpected is a sign of emotional maturity that is rarely given enough credit.

Now, as you draw the day to a close with the serenity of your own company and that artisanal yoghurt, you remind us that true peace does not depend on grand events, but on our willingness to be at peace with ourselves. How valuable it is to know when to rest the body in order to prepare, with discipline, for the next day’s work. May that rest be restorative and may music accompany you as you bring this well-deserved day to a close.
