Ceará Coast | Where the desert meets the ocean | Brazil
Hi Friends from Hive, hope to meet you well.
When I remember our trip to Ceará, I miss it a lot. Ceará is a state in northeastern Brazil, with welcoming and fun people that make you not want to leave.

Intro
It was a great week, with visits to amazing places. Half hurried due to the distance from the beaches, but it was worth every km traveled to try and get to know and enjoy most of the beaches in this wonderful state.
Hope you like this selection of photos and places I made for you, many Go Pro photos were not very sharp, I edited them using GIMP to give better sharpness and color correction.
The high temperature combined with more freshwater from the ponds always left GOPro's protective case blurry. Even though I cleaned up and used some tricks to reduce the condemnation, I didn't have much success. But in the end, I actually liked some effects.
I will share with you some of this experience, trying to summarize 7 days in 1 post... I selected some of the best pictures of these wonderful places and moments.

Places we visit according to the Google Timeline.
Fortaleza
Fortaleza is a big city, the beaches in the center are not very good for swimming. But it has a beautiful shore, good for running, exercising, and several bike rental spots. Where you can rent the bike at one point and return it at another.
As we are always looking for good beaches, we went to spend our days at Praia do Futuro which is very close, approximately 30 minutes by car from the center of Fortaleza.
Praia do Futuro has some really cool kiosks with DJs and live music throughout the day, with prices on food and drinks very fair. We spent the whole day eating and drinking and our balance was R$200. I expected a lot more, as we are used to always paying dearly for meals on the beaches!
On the busy nightlife of Fortaleza, we did few activities, as we wanted to rest to enjoy more beach.
On one of the days, we decided to go to a very trendy place, called Moleskine Gastro Bar. A gourmet pub with excellent food and drink. we love everything. From the location, atmosphere, music, and especially food and wine. We recommend: http://www.moleskinegastrobar.com.br
Canoa Quebrada
We set aside a whole day to go to the broken canoe. As the trip is quite long, 2:30 by car, we left early to enjoy the whole day.
Canoa Quebrada is beautiful and well worth a visit.
Buraco Azul
An artificial pool was created unintentionally. Tells the myth that people were excavating it to build a road nearby. After a strong rain, they realize that the water became turquoise blue. This blue color due to soil minerals. As everyone in the region wanted to visit it. So, they transform it into a private pool, with a restaurant, bar and services, heliport, and aerial tour.
Praia da Lagoinha
The best part of Praia da Lagoinha is not the beach. Is the Lagoon. We took a quad from the beach and went to the lagoon.
After 15 minutes of riding a quad, crossing a river, and pass by some goats, you arrive at Lagoon.
That's the part that my Gopro case was totally blurry. Sad.
Very cool and fun. Sometimes, it doesn't even feel like we were in a pond, as the wind made a lot of waves.
Refreshing and fun, with drinks and food well served, we spent a great day relaxing on the edge of the lagoon.
Jericoacoara
Oh, Jeri!!! It wasn't in our original itinerary, but we decided to go. A tiring journey there, since from Fortaleza to Jeri it is a 5-hour drive. We ended up staying only 2 days in Jeri, but I was able to get to know the region and get a feeling of wanting to come back.
When I remember Jericoacoara, the most beautiful natural landscapes immediately come to mind. One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited, I don't know if for the beauty or the vibe of the village.
The fishing village, which became famous a few years ago, but still retains that special vibe of a small village, with dirt streets, handicrafts and tranquility.
But not only tranquility is found in the village, at night the sound of forró is heard from far away.
Arvore da Preguiça
This tree is one of the best-known spots in Jericoacoara. Grew bent over by the strong sea winds.
One of the only trees in the middle of a desert. surely this tree is a warrior and has survived where many others have not been successful. It deserves special attention. Its unusual look makes it a great tourist spot.
Dunes, how not to remember the Dunes of Jeri. Several dunes attract people to see the sunset. Some natural pools are formed in the middle of the dunes creating an incredible look.
Stunning view, which makes you reflect on this entire existence. a picturesque desert for sure. The sun goes down painting the sands of the dunes. An incredible connection with the local nature.
Definitely, the best place to see the sunset in Jeri.
Lagoa do Paraiso
The Lagoon is surprising in many ways, with hammocks in the calm water of the lagoon, it turns out to be the best way to cool off in the northeastern heat. Relax in the hammocks drinking lots of water, coconut water, and caipirinhas, enjoying a wonderful view and crystal clear water. Waves often form in the lagoon, making you forget that you are not at sea.
Many activities can be done there, such as sailing, Stand Up Paddle and Kite surfing. Very favorable wind for kite surfing. the sport that I did not want to venture into due to my lack of practice. Nobody wants to get hurt while traveling right? But for those who already practice and have experience, the strong winds in the region will certainly encourage you to practice.
Lots of water, heat, make us hunger right? Don't worry that in the region you can find several restaurants, with fair prices and a regional menu, with lots of seafood and fish. I remember we ordered a fish, but could not find any picture of it. we were hungry at this far. lol
Floating restaurants on the lagoon, where you await your meal relaxing in a hammock under the water.
The beaches of Jeri are one of the main points of tourism. Unique natural beauty with clean and crystalline waters. very calm with few waves, being able to be calm with family and children.
Food stalls and kiosks are not lacking either. options with more than 50 types of drinks and mixes for you to cool off while sunbathing on the sun loungers. Drinks with exotic fruits that are not found elsewhere.
With less than 30 minutes of walking, you arrive at Malhada beach. We really like this beach, as it is further away from the beach in the center, it has fewer people and it's quieter to enjoy the sun and take some pictures in the natural pools and rock formations.
Kite surfing on this beach is also very common, as it has few waves and strong winds. Very easy to find schools for those who want to learn.
Another really cool thing about Jeri is the vibe of the village, with dirt streets, handicrafts, and shops. But it's not all tranquility. at night, you already begin to notice the buzz of the region's forrós. There's Rua do Forró, with lots of live music, where everyone gathers in several bars to dance and drink.
Due to the pandemic, we ended up not venturing into the closed bars, where many were closed. We always try to stay in more open places to eat and drink.
I miss you so much and can't wait to return. Few places I visit I usually want to return, but Ceará is definitely on my return list.
I hope you enjoyed it. I have a lot more pictures from this trip. I will need to create another post for all of them, so, if you like it, follow and do no miss it and... keep hiving.
