My Short Trip to Strasbourg - France

Strasbourg.png

Hello everybody! 😊

How are you doing?

I´m great! Just came home from gym. I haven´t been able to go there for around a year, because I am still having so much trouble with my body due to long covid. It´s a real burden. But I just try to get back to exercise and playing the drums real slow. Just 20 minutes of slow workout in the beginning. I hope it will get better soon. But I am really happy and proud of myself, that I started again! 😊

I want to tell you a little bit about the short trip I made on the weekend. To Strasbourg in France.

The very first thing we saw when we got out of the car was this insanely awesome view. The famous cathedral of Strasbourg.

I organized this trip as a little surprise for my girlfriend. We had one night in a suite of a very nice hotel. She knew that we were going somewhere but not to where, until we arrived. 😄
She loves old cities and shopping tours so this was exactly the right trip for her and she loved it. 💜

The city is gorgeous. Very old architecture and lots of history. Also hundreds of shops and restaurants! 😱 I think I´ve never seen soooo many stores in one place.

Our hotel was right next to the famous cathedral, when we looked out of the window, we saw it directly.

This was our suite:

We also went to a place called "Le Petit France". And when we turned around one corner and saw this place here, it was magical. I felt like going back in time or like in a movie. It was awesome!

France is also great for food and beer and wine. So of course we had some beer or a local brewery and great food!

We also took home some local beer and sweets. 😊

We had a really nice weekend and saw a great city with lots of possibilities! We will definitely come back because I am sure there is still lots to see that we didn´t see yet.

This city is definitely worth visiting, and if you ever have a chance, you should do so!
Well guys, I wish you a great day and see you soon! 😊🖤

Straßburg is one of the cities that I love. My aunt lived in Kehl, and we took the tram for lunch on the other side of the Rhine, close to the Lafayette Galleries. Nice that you enjoyed it.

Your photos make Strasbourg look very beautiful!

As someone who has very limited experience visiting both Germany and France, it actually looks very German to me. I tend to associate half-timbered buildings very strongly with Germany. That said, when I look at a map and see how close it is to Germany...something tells me that area would have had quite a lot of German influences!

I'm glad you had a good trip, and I'm super-glad that you're fighting back and winning against your long covid symptoms. It can take such a long time to recover from an illness like that, but it sounds like you're making slow but steady progress. Yay!

Well my cellphone has a shitty camera, next time I need to bring a good camera to make even better pictures. :D
Ah yes I get that. We have a lot of half-timbered houses in Germany. Strasbourg is very close to the german border, so I guess it´s very similar. But there is a slight difference in the atmosphere. But that´s hard to describe.

Thank you! =) It´s a real burden but I just try to start slow and once or twice a week and work my way up. Hopefully the symptoms will slowly fade away.
It´s also good to start playing the drums again. That will hopefully help too! !PIZZA

What a wonderful place!!! I didn't know Strasbourg was such a beautiful place. The rewards of this post are also low for the quality you have this post. The architecture of its buildings is fantastic. The Gothic style cathedral is fabulous
