Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train Arc - A Scorching Emotional Rollercoaster (Tears)

Hello family of the anime community, it's been weeks now, and I haven't gotten new anime to watch. I'm just anticipating the new seasons of both old and new anime to watch, and for now, I can't write anything about TBATE (The Beginning After The End) because the first episode released to the public was very disappointing. I mean, very bad because it felt like a PowerPoint presentation. If you haven't seen it, just don't bother wasting your time viewing it.

Ok, ok, I am not here to talk about TBATE, but it gave birth to the reason why I wanted to talk about Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc.

After watching TBATE and feeling nothing, I decided to watch some old anime, and I picked Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train Arc, forgetting how emotional I can be sometimes, and hell yeah, it made me cry again. I remember watching it for the first time; I was in tears. I felt if I watched it again, it wouldn't be like the first time but I was so wrong, because writing this now, I am so emotional.

The Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc movie is a masterpiece in emotional storytelling, delivering a nerve-wrenching narrative that will leave you breathless and tearful. As a fan of one of the characters (Rengoku), I still find it hard to believe they had to kill him off like that because he would have been amazing in the upcoming Demon Castle Arc that's coming soon.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc's greatest strength lies in its ability to balance action and emotion. The movie shows how human conditions are: not everyone who is evil wants to be evil; some people just want some peace, but the way they get that peace is diabolical, while some people's souls are so gentle they cannot be corrupted. The movie also delves into themes of sacrifice, duty, and the fleeting nature of life. The animation is stunning, with beautifully choreographed fight scenes that showcase Rengoku's incredible skills.

Apart from the great animation, the music was great too. What is anime without great music? Demon Slayer music isn't just beautiful to the ear; it also tells the story of the characters, showing some of their characteristics. Some music will come up, and you already know the character that's about to show up. Here is one of my favorite emotional pieces of music from Demon Slayer.

Rengoku's Story

Kyojuro Rengoku's backstory is a heart-wrenching revelation that adds depth to his character. His unwavering dedication to his family and his unshakeable optimism make his eventual demise all the more devastating. From a young age, he grew up with a sick mother who couldn't do much for them. After his mother's death, his father abandoned him, and he had to train all by himself to become a Hashira.

He has a younger brother who looks up to him, not just his younger brother, but other promising young demon slayers.

The impact of Rengoku's death touches deeply, not just because of his impressive character development but also due to the emotional investment the series has built up. His sacrifice serves as a constant reminder of the harsh realities of the Demon Slayer world.

At the end of the film, we can all see the legacy Rengoku left behind; his death was felt by all demon slayers and not just the demon slayers. His death was a testament to the series' ability to craft compelling stories that resonate with audiences. Rengoku's legacy lives on, inspiring Tanjiro and the other Hashira to continue their fight against the demons.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train Arc is a must-watch for everyone looking for action, life lessons, emotion, and more in one story. I would recommend it for all, both anime watchers and non-anime watchers. I rate the movie a 10/10. I have never given a film a 10 before but this deserves a 10.

Here is a trailer.

Thanks for reading.
