Fun at the airport 🛫 🎹🎶
Summer is always (almost always) associated with a trip. For us, it is mostly a visit to our families and when we travel by car, we would include several destinations along the way as tourist visits. When we travel by plane and have a direct flight, those tourist destinations along the way are missing, but the truth is, travelling by plane is much faster than by car. In our case, it is three days (by road) compared to three hours (by air).
Both things have their positive sides. We really like trips by car that include sightseeing and getting to know new places where we stay to rest. It is a nice experience, although tiring. We have been doing it that way for years, but already last year we travelled by plane because it was more comfortable and quick. I wrote about that trip last year in this small summery community of ours.
This year has been a bit complicated. We hoped that my husband would recover "quickly" and then we could go together to visit our families at the end of the August, however it didn't happen that way. Also, other urgent issues made me travel on my own, as I mentioned in my latest post.
I had a late evening flight from the Alicante airport yesterday. As I arrived two hours before the flight I had that time for having some fun on the terminal.
So, while I was waiting for my flight, guess how I spent that time?
Trying out perfumes?

Ok, that is a good guess. 👌
Playing the piano?
...
That is even a better guess! Actually that was the right answer, I pretty much enjoyed playing some pieces from the book that I found there.
Later, I played more pieces from my tablet. For example:
After a few pieces I got some more audience, but I also had to proceed to the gate so I let a young man have his piano time. I gave him some tips as we also talked about piano playing and then indeed I had to go.
It wasn't a quick boarding...
Eventually, the plane was ready and we could start the trip...

actually come to think of it last time was 2008 before my burn-out a company trip to Berlin ...
haven't really been on vacation since the burn-out , still in recovery mode from that burn-out.
Lately, when I've been on business trips and waiting for flights with no one to pass the time with, I've been tapping on Hive 🙂
Peace and quiet, plenty of time, a full battery, and enough data have been great for making the wait for boarding go by faster.
Not a bad way at all to pass the time with Hive while waiting 😉

Good evening, @mipiano; thank you so much for sharing your passion with us—the video is great. As for what we usually do while waiting at the airport, I try to find a spot with a good view of the planes; I’m still fascinated by watching those massive winged machines take off and fly.

Your way of spending the waiting time is excellent. I also like to watch the planes. This is a busy little airport, there is always some plane coming or leaving.

Surgieron unos imprevistos (líquido debajo del pulmón) pero le han dado de alta, estar de reposo y seguir la terapia en casa y consultar el cardiólogo, entonces el lunes vamos.

Well… I’ve only ever flown once, from Argentina to here… I didn’t have time to enjoy myself, just to look after Cata!!😆

A road trip via car always has that nice ring in it -but only if you're not the one driving haha. But man, 3 days compared to 3 hours, thats crazy! But at least with the 3 days, you can really see a lot of pretty things on the way. Might even discover a nice and cozy cafe or shop during a stop and more.
But omg, you give a nice and lovely performance for everyone to enjoy? Thats so lovely. But surely you enjoy it the most too ♪ \(^ω^\ )
3 days, yes, as each day we would drive some 8 - 10 hours and then we stop at some place to sleep over and look around. 😆
Playing was a fun for me, and if the others sitting on the benches also enjoyed, that it's cool 😎

That's true, no one should work for free, but this was my fun and pass time 😉🎶 so the result of that was the free concert for others hahaha

I hate airports. I think a lot of people do. Hopefully your playing brought some light to what is normally a pretty dismal experience.
For me at least the piano playing was the only thing that's worth remembering from this airport experience 😆

I used to publish more music related posts in the past but yeah, here and there I am also bringing here my piano playing 🎶🎹
At a first glance I though it is the Zaventem airport in Brussels where at time I've witnessed piano songs played by travelers. The idea to have a real piano in high traffic areas is quite great as it disrupts our borring routine and cloudy thoughts. 😊
I am glad there are many pianos around the world at the airports/railway stations etc... 😊 A joy not just for pianists but for all those who try to play and entertain themselves 🎹🎶
