🎙️ Another unique addition to my studio setup: the Geloso T28!
I tried adding this piezo microphone, paired with the T.Bone MB7, to record the snare drum. It is obviously a particular sound search that could give some extra nuance to the overall sound.
The Geloso T28 is a small, absolutely vintage microphone, circa 1960s, produced by a glorious Italian brand.

Where do you find old microphones? There is a real craze for retro gear these days and prices can be high. I know some people feel it has a certain magic, but technology has moved on. You just have to find whatever gets the sounds you want.

I mainly find them in street markets. In fact, my search is not for good sound but for bad sound! Say you were to record a lo-fi session, these mics could give you the sound already at the source. Of course, there are VSTs that work great, but my search is a personal quest for mics that cost very little.

Ah, of course people use plugins to get lo-fi sound that you can get from lo-fi gear :) Your way seems more fun.
