A few days ago I had the opportunity to enjoy the participation of @lyon-89, who for week 39 chose the song The End Of Heartache by the metalcore band Killswitch Engage. Without considering myself a "metalhead", in my youth I listened to bands like Guns and Roses and Nirvana, their proposals pleased me so much that my interest grew until I listened to Metallica and also Iron Maiden, but my taste for heavy rock stayed in metalcore because it combines the intensity of the chords of guitars and drums with lyrics that project feelings.

What he performed recently pleased me since he shows a great command of metalcore. His vocal qualities, his diction and the way he presented The End Of Heartache seemed superb to me because it flows quite strongly, not only because of his technique but also because of the performance, which transports us to the film Resident Evil, where it is the main theme.

When I go to the deeper analysis of the song, I can notice that The End Of Heartache is planted in the pain for the absence of the loved one. You can feel the longing for the memories, those instants that remain despite time and loneliness. Although there is a halo of hope, suffering consumes existence.

@lyon-89 projects his powerful voice achieving his particular seal in this cover. What pleased me the most was that despite the aggressive and dark tone of the music, which is inherent to this subgenre, he gives us harmonious nuances that fit the theme. You can tell he feels this piece of music because he is able to connect with the lyrics and convey his emotions to the audience. It is interesting when you read the lyrics and through imagination transform it into a ballad, it does not have the same impact, it is like a body without a soul.

Undoubtedly, music is a fascinating means of expression that allows us to visualize, feel and live to the fullest, it is to hold on to what we long for so much through a single sense. Music is an analgesic for the spirit and this interpretation lives up to my expectations because the representation of a tormented being imploring compassion can be felt. Sin duda, la música es un medio de expresión fascinante que nos permite visualizar, sentir y vivir a plenitud, es aferrarse a lo que tanto anhelamos a través de un solo sentido. La música es un analgésico para el espíritu y esta interpretación está a la altura de mis expectativas porque la representación de un ser atormentado implorando compasión se puede sentir. Cerré los ojos y una descarga de energía me llevó a una dimensión fantástica en la cual volví a ser adolescente otra vez.
