Vibes Weeek #39 —Reliving Movies Through Music
As we all know, the community has been bustling with vibes from the entries for the Week 39 competition. Week 38 ended on a very high note, I will say the winners who received the rewards truly deserved them. Thanks to the judges who make sure the list is fairly rotated among all deserving artists.
For this week, artists were asked to perform their favourite soundtrack from a movie. This was very exciting because I knew I would discover good movies I haven’t seen yet or learn the origins of some songs I already love. What I didn’t expect was the wave of childhood nostalgia that swept through the community. Many of the entries were soundtracks from the 90s and early 2000s, which made me wonder if today’s movie industry should pay more attention to crafting unforgettable soundtracks like in the past. A great soundtrack can make a film live forever in our hearts, long after the credits roll.
As always, I scrolled through the community and watched several entries. I truly admire the effort every artist put into following the theme. Performing a soundtrack is not as easy as it may seem as there’s the challenge of matching the emotion of the original while still making it your own. That’s why some performances stood out for me, and I’ll highlight them here.
In no particular order, the first on my list is @ellacentric, who performed a soundtrack from the movie Stand By Me. I haven’t seen this movie before, but the song was so beautiful that it piqued my interest instantly. Her voice carried a peaceful, almost healing quality, and the control she maintained throughout the performance made it a joy to listen to.
Next, I want to mention the flute performances by @jennyflute and @mariflautacubana. I listened to both of them from start to finish, enjoying every note. @jennyflute performed Love Me Like You Do , one of the soundtracks from the movie Fifty Shades of Grey, while @mariflautacubana performed a soundtrack from Welcome to Jurassic World . Both brought their own flavour to the pieces turning familiar songs into new experiences for me.
I’ve listened to a lot of entris this week, and I’d say about 50% of them were outstanding and perfectly in line with the theme. The competition is still ongoing, so I’m expecting even more amazing performances from our talented artists.
I’m always grateful to the brains behind this competition.Even though one of its main goals is to bring in new users, the entertainment it brings to the blockchain is truly priceless. I’m even more grateful for the opportunity it gives us writers to share in the fun by experiencing the music, engaging with the performers, and capturing the community spirit in words.
####My Final Thoughts
Week 39 has already shown us that music is more than just sound, it’s memory, emotion, and connection. From soothing vocals to masterful instrumentals the talent in the Vibes community neve r fails to impress. If you haven’t yet explored the entries, I highly recommend doing so now, you might just discover your next favourite song, movie,or artist.
Until next week, friends, let’s keep the vibes fun and positive.
