Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 32 || Review Of Call On Jesus Cover By @jessicaossom
Greetings everyone, happy new month. It's another beautiful edition and there are already different amazing entries in the community. I have gone through a few and to be frank, the artists did really well.
However, I will be reviewing “Call on Jesus,” cover by Jessicaossom. I can remember singing that song very well during my childhood.
It was one of my favorite songs, although I didn't know the lyrics in full but the chorus was something I sang almost on a daily basis.
The song speaks about the possibilities that are encapsulated in the name of Jesus Christ. It educates us on how potent and reliable the name is. It is more like a place of comfort for anyone who dares call and believes in it.
I think Jessicaossom didn't sing that song by accident because listening to her uplifted me this evening. It reminded me that there is hope in the name of Jesus and that I can find comfort in it anytime. She made the right choice of song.
I will be reviewing her entry as follows:
From what I have observed from her video, the entry was well-planned. She took her time to edit her video and even the microphone sound that she used.
I have listened to the original song severally but trust me, It has never hit me like it did today.
Jessicaossom used a background instrumental to make her song more interesting and palatable for hearing. I love the idea of using a microphone. It really brought out the sound of her voice.
Her voice was audible, the lyrics were clear enough for anyone to pick. She didn't try to twist her voice to make it sound exactly like the original song. She simply made her own song out of what she practiced and that was excellent.
Her outfit was also nice, I couldn't see it completely, but she wore a round neck T-shirt and probably a skirt or trousers, I couldn't see it all but the outfit was decent and it matched the message she was passing across.
Her interaction with the song was also amazing. She maintained a standing posture throughout the song and that on its own is a plus for me, as it shows enthusiasm and readiness.
One thing that stood out for me was her voice and the way she moved her body while singing. I will be honest, Jessicaossom has a very good voice, it is so soothing. I could listen to her all day and not get tired.
The entry was 4:48, which is a very good timing. I always say this, it's not about having a lengthy or short time, it's about hitting the nail on the hit. If the message is passed across then it is settled, though when it is too lengthy people may get tired of listening and walk away.
