Greetings dear musical friends, it is always a pleasure for me to be here. This week I bring you a song from 1986, by the great composer Juan Gabriel, “Hasta que te conocí” (Until I Met You), a song full of emotion and nostalgia. In those years, the Divo de Juárez presented this song at the National Institute of Fine Arts. It was the definitive launch of his career.

This song has a very sad message, Juanga lived his entire childhood and life with a lot of rejection from his mother, she abandoned him in an orphanage and never loved him as she should, he fought for years for his mother to accept him and even in his stardom she was quite reluctant with him, so he made this song as a kind of catharsis or allegory dedicated to her.

How painful it must have been to miss the love of a mother who was absent and who was supposed to be the person who should protect you, that marked her life without a doubt, how important it is sometimes to have emotional responsibility. Listening to this song and seeing the concert is total magic, I wanted to make my little version on the ukulele, I hope you like it, I send you a big hug!
