There was no way to start this initiative for me than with the most fascinating video clips and choreography I have ever seen. Yes, I'm talking about Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

No puedo precisar exactamente desde cuando me gustan las canciones de Michael, supongo desde la adolescencia, donde más música comencé a escuchar. En esa época los videos clips se transmitían por televisión en un canal de música, pero era pago, no de aire. Por lo que no podía verlos y me conformaba con escuchar la radio y supongo ahí conocí a Michael. Han pasado demasiados años ya, pero jamás dejó de gustarme su música.

Más allá de su vida personal y lo que digan o no digan de él, si es verdad o no, yo me enfoco en su música, sus letras, sus coreografías y los videos maravillosos que ha realizado.

Mucho más adelante gracias a internet y otro canal de TV que pasaba música fue que pude ver por primera vez videos de música y sobre todo los de Michael Jackson. Recuerdo la época de los cds y que pude tener uno de él. Que emoción sentí en ese momento.

Cuando ya fue más difundido el tema de los videos clips y más gratuito, fue que accedí a ellos y quedé fascinada, porque la mayoría de ellos contaban una historia o parecían pequeñas películas. Cada uno de sus videos era mejor que otro. Sobre todo, me gustaron mucho los primeros que realizó en su carrera.

I can't say exactly how long I've liked Michael's songs, I guess since I was a teenager, when I started listening to more music. At that time the video clips were broadcast on television on a music channel, but it was a pay channel, not an over-the-air channel. So I couldn't watch them and I was content to listen to the radio and I guess that's where I met Michael. It's been too many years now, but I never stopped liking his music.

Beyond his personal life and what they say or don't say about him, whether it's true or not, I focus on his music, his lyrics, his choreography and the wonderful videos he made.

Much later, thanks to the internet and another TV channel that showed music, I was able to see music videos for the first time, especially those of Michael Jackson. I remember the time of the cds and I was able to have one of him. What a thrill I felt at that moment.

When video clips became more widespread and more free, I got access to them and I was fascinated, because most of them told a story or looked like little movies. Each of their videos was better than the other. Above all, I really liked the first ones he made in his career.

El primer video clip que les muestro es mi favorito de todos los tiempos, con la canción Smooth Criminal. Me gustan la ambientación, las coreografías, la historia que esta dentro de él. Me gusta interpretarlos a mi manera e imaginar en la mayoría de los casos, y en este caso veo una mini película de mafia, persecución, pero también lealdad de los seguidores hacia su jefe, lo protegen. La coreografía es espectacular y es una de las cosas que más admiro de Michael, el baile. Es un genio.

Como les digo su forma de bailar es una de las cosas que más admiro y por lo tanto el armado de la coreografía en cada video y sobre todo la coordinación con tanta cantidad de gente. Su voz es única y su vestimenta original. Siempre fue auténtico y diferente a los demás, quizá esa fue una de las cosas que me atrapó de sus videos y su música.

The first video clip I show you is my favourite of all times, with the song Smooth Criminal. I like the setting, the choreographies, the story that is inside it. I like to interpret them in my own way and imagine in most cases, and in this case I see a mini-movie of mafia, chase, but also loyalty of the followers towards their boss, they protect him. The choreography is spectacular and it's one of the things I admire most about Michael, the dancing. He is a genius.

As I say, his dancing is one of the things I admire the most and therefore the choreography in each video and above all the coordination with so many people. His voice is unique and his clothes are original. He was always authentic and different from the rest, maybe that was one of the things that caught me in his videos and his music.

El segundo video que les traigo, es uno de los más famosos con la canción Thriller, con una historia de fantasía y terror, que para la época era espectacular. Una coreografía que me imagino habrá llevado mucho tiempo en armar y coordinar.

Luego el maquillaje de los personajes y el vestuario, también teniendo en cuenta la época ha sido maravilloso, muy original y novedoso en ese momento. La fama fue insuperable y a mi me encanta ese video, además de la canción.

Then the make-up of the characters and the costumes, also taking into account the period, was marvellous, very original and novel at the time. The fame was unbeatable and I love that video, as well as the song.

Evidentemente no puedo traer todos los videos clips de Michael y fue muy difícil seleccionar entre tantos que me gustan, pero en el tercer puesto, con la canción Bad, les traigo otro de los que más me gustan. Y siguiendo con la temática, la coreografía es lo que resalta y también la actuación de una cierta rebeldía entre pandillas.

En esta ocasión también me encanta la vestimenta, sobre todo la de Michael. Llevo tantos años siendo su fan que es como si lo hubiera conocido, me hubiera encantado ir a un recital de él. Nunca pudo ser. Aquí resalta ese chico malo que se enfrenta a los demás. En esa época yo también vestía siempre de negro y me gustaba ser diferente, siempre lo fui, en contra de lo establecido. Me encanta Michael, no sé si se nota.

Recuerdo cuando iba a la secundaria, en la clase de inglés, estudiamos algo sobre él y recuerdo que en el libro que teníamos decía que su baile como errático y espectacular se debía a la picadura de una araña. No sé si eso fuera real, lo cierto es que para mi es el mejor bailarín del mundo.

El último video que les traigo es muy diferente al resto y es más nuevo. Michael hizo muchos videos hablando de la paz, la naturaleza, el respeto por ella y en este se evidencia con la canción Earth Song. Habla de cómo los seres humanos hemos destruido la naturaleza, provocamos las guerras y que eso no tiene sentido, sólo nos maltratamos a nosotros mismos y al único planeta que tenemos.

Veo en ese clip sus ansias por reparar el daño grave que se le ha hecho y que se le ha venido haciendo hace mucho tiempo a la madre tierra. Si estuviera vivo, me pregunto, que pensaría hoy con todo lo que pasa. Creo amaba este planeta y la vida sobre él, lo natural y quería preservarlo.

The last video I bring you is very different from the rest and it is newer. Michael made a lot of videos talking about peace, nature, respect for it and in this one he shows it with the song Earth Song. He talks about how we humans have destroyed nature, we provoke wars and that it makes no sense, we only mistreat ourselves and the only planet we have.

I see in that clip his eagerness to repair the serious damage that has been done and has been done for a long time to mother earth. If he were alive, I wonder what he would think today with all that is going on. I think he loved this planet and the life on it, the natural and wanted to preserve it.
