Orange FPC

Hello Hello Hivians, fellow Hive photographers, Friendlymoose Photo Contest and #FPC enthusiasts!

It's always a pleasure to participate in challenges that are fun on Hive, I think they are what makes this blockchain of ours such a wonderful place. Entering and engaging gives us a community spirit that sets Hive apart from other web3 projects.

This week's theme in the Friendlymoose Photo Contest from @friendlymoose is "ORANGE" and you can check the contest post here.

For my entry, I've chosen a shot taken by me from of some Orangemen during an Orange Parade that passed by our front door...

at 13:53 Scotland time with my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL ...ƒ/2.8 ...1/1300 ... 17.9 mm... ISO46 In fact all the photographs that you see are all taken pretty much at the same time, give or take ten minutes!!

A nod to King William

I will do more of a post explaining the significance of Orange in Scotland later. But these are all from the same march..

Part and parcel of the Orange Order is the flutes and drums of the bands.

The order is now not just confined to men now.

We don't have the fluffing big pallet bonfires like they do over the water though lol.

Hehe just a bit. I took Mrs T there about six years ago and she was gobsmacked, could not believe it all and the size of the bonfires. Being American she is always amazed at the history of Europe.

I like parades and orange is a great color, so I loved the photos. Halloween is coming soon, so it's time to take orange and black out of the closet. Hugs 🎃

Halloween you celebrate that? Started in Scotland you know... I love orange and Rangers had a third strip in orange that was gorgeous. An orange hug Nancy

Very cool celebration, with lots of orange of course. You got some great shots for your entry, very well done. I'm interested in the orange and Scottish history now, I guess I'll have to look it up. I'm too impatient to wait for your post! lol

Is this more of your soccer stuff? I thought it was horse racing at first!

(Edited)

Much more than soccer, it is centuries of history. A political hot potato if ever there was one.

Well I never knew that I thought this only took place in the North of Ireland

Oh heck no, Scots and Ulster has a massive connection. Orange marching season is still pretty especially in the West of Scotland.

You have me wondering now about why the orange!

I've been addicted to oranges this winter. They've been next level juicy and sweet. Can't get enough!
