Hive Open Mic Week 320 || People by Libianca (A Freestyle)

Hello great people. It is a new week, and it is beautiful to be here again for this week's Open Mic. For some reason, I am so much in love with this week's theme. There could be many reasons for that, but I particularly think it's because I am a realist. I believe in bad days; I believe that sometimes we experience misfortune and sad moments. Though I do not pray for that, I accept them as part of life when they eventually come.

Hola a todos. Empieza una nueva semana, y es maravilloso estar aquí de nuevo para el Open Mic de esta semana. Por alguna razón, me encanta el tema de esta semana. Puede que haya muchas razones para ello, pero creo que, sobre todo, es porque soy realista. Creo en los días malos; creo que a veces nos tocan momentos de mala suerte y tristes. Aunque no los deseo, los acepto como parte de la vida cuando llegan.

For this week, I have chosen a beautiful Afrobeat song. Though I have my reservations about the message I think the song might be trying to convey, I love the song so much for some reason. The song I will be performing today is "People" by Libianca. But I think I will end up performing an entirely different song in the long run. That notwithstanding, this inspired my performance today, and whatever I am doing is a freestyle of the song.

Para esta semana, he elegido una preciosa canción de afrobeat. Aunque tengo mis reservas sobre el mensaje que creo que la canción intenta transmitir, por alguna razón me encanta. La canción que voy a interpretar hoy es «People», de Libianca. Pero creo que al final acabaré interpretando una canción totalmente diferente. A pesar de ello, esta me ha servido de inspiración para mi actuación de hoy, y lo que voy a hacer es una versión improvisada de la canción.

"People" is a song that conveys very sad emotions. Regardless of the message it originally conveys, it could be considered one of those songs that could be played when one is experiencing a sad moment. But to be particular, the song "People" speaks about how unreliable people can be. In her words, "people don't really know you"; they do not see you. And that, for her, explains why you could be in your worst state and those around you would never notice.

«People» es una canción que transmite emociones muy tristes. Independientemente del mensaje que transmita originalmente, podría considerarse una de esas canciones que se pueden escuchar cuando uno está pasando por un momento triste. Pero, para ser más concretos, la canción «People» habla de lo poco fiables que pueden ser las personas. En sus propias palabras, «la gente no te conoce de verdad»; no te ven. Y eso, para ella, explica por qué puedes estar en tu peor momento y los que te rodean nunca se darían cuenta.

As much as possible, I will make sure the message of the song remains intact, but I cannot promise the same for the lyrics. I will be doing lots of playing around with the lyrics; as a matter of fact, I will be adding some original lyrics myself. The song originally does not have many lyrics, but I will need just the chorus of the original song while I add every other thing that will be said. I did not actually score the original song, nor pay attention to its progression, but I will be using a 6-4-2-3 progression with, of course, some extensions.
