Hola, queridos amigos de Hive Open Mic. En esta temática de la semana de Cuaresma, no se me ha ocurrido una mejor idea que cantar este gran clásico que llegué a escuchar en la película de Shrek. Pero lo que empezó como una simple canción que se coló a mí a través de una película, cuando le presté atención, en realidad hablaba de una forma muy profunda acerca de cómo ver la música como alabanza hacia Dios, y ciertamente este mensaje quedó muy impregnado en mi memoria.

Hello, dear friends of Hive Open Mic. For this week’s theme of Lent, I couldn’t think of a better idea than to sing this great classic that I first heard in the movie Shrek. But what started as a simple song that slipped into my life through a movie, when I paid attention to it, actually spoke in a very profound way about how to see music as praise to God, and this message certainly left a deep impression on my memory.

Esta versión que les traigo acá es una canción que originalmente se interpretaría con piano y voz, pero le quise dar mi toque personal con una guitarra acústica y con mi voz, y creo que el resultado que he obtenido es bastante bueno. Espero que lo disfruten tanto como yo disfruté grabándolo.

Hay varias cosas de esta canción que, la verdad, me llaman mucho la atención, sobre todo al principio, cuando dice específicamente que si has escuchado el acorde secreto que David tocó, y luego describe con perfecta exactitud la progresión de acordes que siguen. Es una cosa bastante fantástica de ver la canción en su idioma original, ya que a través de este podemos entender específicamente qué fue lo que quiso decirnos el autor de manera original. Ya que en la versión que se hace en español, la canción se enfoca más bien hacia que hay milagros alrededor del mundo, y no de la forma en la cual, en inglés, se expresa mediante su composición, que es más una forma de decir que, aunque hayan dificultades, siempre se sale victorioso de una u otra forma. Y con esto se conjuga el Aleluya para con la canción y dar contexto completo de que, aunque la situación fue adversa, siempre se terminó en un resultado digno de alabanza.

There are several things about this song that truly catch my attention, especially at the beginning, when it specifically says if you’ve heard the secret chord that David played, and then it describes with perfect accuracy the chord progression that follows. It’s quite fantastic to see the song in its original language, as through it we can specifically understand what the author originally wanted to tell us. Since in the Spanish version, the song focuses more on there being miracles around the world, and not in the way that, in English, it is expressed through its composition, which is more a way of saying that, even though there are difficulties, one always emerges victorious in one way or another. And with this, the Hallelujah is conjugated with the song to give full context that, even though the situation was adverse, it always ended in a result worthy of praise.
