The Air Between Me and You

Hi!
Sci Fi Lol GIF by Hallmark Gold Crown
Since me and Chrys have returned from Malaysia, we have decided to engage into some light activities around here and she suggested that I learn how to dance...and we took another decision and overnight...we woke up being enrolled in dancing classes, society dances....but I gave up since I'm no good at Salsa and all the others and I get annoyed. But Chrys didn't give up - to the idea and ...on me dancing. So now, we are taking about 1-4 hours per week to practice tango by ourselves. 1 hour is the time we are allocating to watch videos, then we start practice more and more.

What I have learnt so far:
The first lesson is that practicing this at home with no dance instructor is hard but is more fun and less embarassing. It established bridges for a better communication between me and Chryss.

As for the Tango itself, here is what I have learnt from watching videos, tutorials, and dancing with Chrys.
Among the premises and attributes of a desired CONNECTION in tango (and maybe more) I want to only mention these ones - I am not a pro:

  1. To feel that you are one with your partner and to see that you are together in the dance
  2. Let each of the two be FREE in the embrace and balanced.
  3. To dance close embrace, open embrace, any embrace so naturally any attempt to fit (limit) the dance into a "tango style" would be a bad joke.
  4. Be able to, and stop at any point during the dance without problems.
  5. As you can see, there is no voice in the hands so you can dance (lead or follow for example)
  6. To easily musicalize any complex rhythm you want: 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-1, syncopation, triplets, etc.
  7. To find your partner naturally after any breakup and make it seem like you didn't even "break" the hug.
  8. To step in opposite directions and still be together with the other.
  9. To play with the level of the dance and with the alternation of the length and frequency of the steps so that they can understand and "hear" the music even when the sound is turned off. My 2 cents...My opinion.

I have reached this latest conlusion that: for those that like to watch other dancing Tnago like me and Chrys do...is hard to understand it, to actually feel the bound and the sensations of those that do it... but anyone can try to learn how to dance Tango and practice!

Thanks for reading.

With respect,
Zpek
