I used to play drum in my teenage years. Stopped. Now that I've grown older and know more about managing expectations, its time to to get back into what I love to do and not worrying things happening around me.

Tips I received for drumming:

  1. Start slowly: Set expectations smaller expectations so don't push yourself too hard just because you've played before. Start with simple exercises and gradually increase the difficulty as you get more comfortable.

  2. Revisit the basics: Brush up on the fundamentals of drumming, such as hand technique, footwork, and timing. This will help you build a strong foundation for more advanced techniques.

  3. Practice regularly: Consistent practice is key to improving your skills. Even if you only have a few minutes a day, try to practice regularly.

  4. Join a community or have a friend: People can provide you with valuable feedback and support.

  5. Use a metronome: The soul of the drum is always the rhythm. Once you understand the song's you can play anything you want.

  6. Learn the scores: Drumming can be difficult without direction. Drum scores can help you with new ideas and creativity.

  7. Embrace your mistakes: Keep going! The beat don't wait for you! Even if you make a mistake, move on and get back into the beat!

  8. Listen to music: Can start with listening to the music you like. Different genres of music can help you expand your drumming skills and develop your sense of timing and rhythm. Catch the groove in the songs and try to replicate it if you can't copy it.

Most importantly! Have FUN! Be humble! Stay Hunger! Stay foolish!
