[ENG/SPA] My introduction to the MUSIC community, as a former DJ who loves electronic and retro music

Warm greetings to the entire Music community. My name is Steven Rivas, I am from Venezuela, I am 32 years old, and I am a former electronic music DJ. I dedicated approximately eight years of my life to this profession. My mother's family comes from the plains, from a small town in San Fernando de Apure. In that region, most people are musicians; they sing or play an instrument. They have been with some famous singers and have played with many of them. My mother has a very good voice because of them. My father is from the east. He is an engineer, but he does not sing, nor does he come from a family of musicians. I don't sing, but I do like music. I'm not like them; I'm very different. I was a DJ many years ago, starting when I was 14. When I started listening to electronic music, I never thought I would become a DJ. At that time, I liked artists such as Tiesto, Benny Benassi, Eric Prycz, David Guetta, and Armin van Buuren. The subgenres of electronic music that I am most passionate about are hard trance, trance, and house. When I was 14, some friends gave me the opportunity and taught me how to use mixers, how to synchronize from one turntable to another, the power of headphones, how to use Virtual DJ, and more. At that time, I learned to use CDs mostly, but over time, laptops became much more convenient. Nothing beats the old school, I tell you, but you have to adapt.

Un cordial saludos a toda la comunidad Music, mi nombre es Steven Rivas, soy de Venezuela, tengo 32 años, soy ex DJ de música electrónica, dedique esto un tiempo, aproximadamente 8 años de mi vida. Mi familia por parte de mi madre proviene del llano, ósea de un pueblito en San Fernando de Apure, en esa región ellos son músicos la mayoría, cantan o tocan un instrumento, han estado con algunos cantantes famosos y han tocado muchos con ellos, mi mama tiene muy buena voz debido a ellos, mi padre es de origen oriental es ingeniero pero él no canta ni tampoco proviene de familia de músico, yo no canto pero si me gusta la música, no soy como ellos soy mucho más distinto, fui DJ hace muchos años, y empecé desde los 14 años. Cuando empecé escuchar música electrónica no pensaba jamás ser DJ, artistas para ese momento me gustaban, Tiesto, Benny Benassi, Eric Prycz, David Guetta y Armin van Buuren. Mi sub géneros de la música electrónica que más me apasionaron es el Hard Trance, trance y el House. En el momento desde los 14 años me brindaron la oportunidad unos amigos para en ese momento y me enseñaron como era usar los Mixers, como saber sincronizar de un platillo a otro, el poder de los audífonos, usar el Virtual DJ y más, para ese momento aprendí usar más que todo CD, luego con el tiempo la laptop fue mucho más cómoda, nada es mejor que la escuela antigua eso les digo, pero hay que adaptarse.

I am also a computer technician, a gamer, I publish games in another community, I like anime, I like technology and, of course, electronic music... I don't perform at any events these days, in fact I make different subgenres of electronic music or techno, and the one I like now is Synthwave, or Retro. It's very beautiful because of the nostalgic factor of the 80s. I always considered the songs from that era to be the best, and of course, in the 2000s, there were many that I liked. The period from 2014 to 2018 was also very good, when EDM was at its peak for many artists...

También soy técnico en computación, soy Gamer, hago publicación de juegos en otra comunidad, me gusta el anime, me gusta la tecnología y por supuesto la música electrónica… no me presento en ningún evento ya en estos tiempos, de hecho hago distinto sub géneros de música electrónica o Techno, y el que me gusta ahora es el Synthwave, o Retro, es muy bonita por el factor nostálgico de los 80´s que siempre vi esas canciones de esa época como la mejor, y por supuesto en los años 2000s hubieron muchas que me gustaron, en el periodo 2014 a 2018 fue también muy bueno donde el EDM estaba en su máximo apogeo para muchos artistas…

Now I make music with software, and it was hard for me to adapt to this again at first. Another thing is that this is a hobby for me. I have several original tracks that I want to show you over time, but mostly in the Synthwave style. It took me a while to practice with some instruments, but I was patient and I am grateful to everyone who taught me. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little embarrassed, but I would like to show you a small repertoire of songs I've made over time, and I hope you like them.

Ahora hago música con programas y me costó adaptarme otra vez en el principio a esto de nuevo, otra cosa esto es un hobby para mí, tengo varios Tracks original que quiero mostrarle con el paso del tiempo, pero más que todo al estilo Synthwave. Me costó un poco practicar con algunos instrumentos, pero tuve paciencia y agradezco a todas las personas que me enseñaron. No les voy a mentir tengo algo de pena, pero si me gustaría mostrarle un pequeño repertorio de mis temas que he hecho con el paso del tiempo y espero que les agrade.

Soon I will be launching a YouTube channel based on this style of music, featuring originals, remixes, and sessions that are a little longer than the video I showed you. One thing I didn't mention is that I retired from DJing for personal reasons. I had some problems, but music still keeps me awake at night. Now it's become a hobby for me. Un detalle de mí que no mencione es que me retire de ser DJ por motivos personales, tuve algunos problemas, pero no se me quita el sueño de la música, ahora esto para mí se volvió hobby, no me interesa la fama, pero si me interesa que les agrade lo que hago y que lo puedan disfrutar.
