Ya tenia un buen tiempo sin traer contenido musical en general, ya que por diversas circunstancias se me ha hecho complicado a la hora de grabar, y aunque un poco tarde para el Open Mic de esta semana número 157, me presento trayendo este tema que como habrán visto en el titulo del post, se trata del hallelujah de Leonard Cohen.

La versión que traigo el día de hoy es la cantada al español por la agrupación vocal Il Divo.

Grabar esta canción de la manera en la que la traigo fue todo un reto que me propuse y resultado de mucha práctica, pues cantar y tocar al mismo tiempo es algo para lo que siempre he tenido dificultad a la hora de coordinar ambas acciones y el ser capaz de hacer ambas cosas a la vez ha sido una meta que me propuse lograr.

Recording this song the way I bring it was a challenge I set myself and the result of much practice, because singing and playing at the same time is something I have always had difficulty in coordinating both actions and being able to do both things at the same time has been a goal I set myself to achieve.

La letra de la versión original hecha por Leonard Cohen utiliza muchas referencias bíblicas como, por ejemplo: la segunda estrofa que hace referencia al caso de Sansón uno de los últimos jueces israelitas antiguos dotado por el señor con una fuerza sobre humana, quien cae perdidamente enamorado de Dalila quien era filistea (siendo los filisteos enemigos de los israelitas) quien termina traicionándolo cortándole el cabello y entregándolo a los filisteos.

También de por sí, la palabra Hallelujah o Aleluya, es una adaptación proveniente del hebreo hallĕlū-Yăh que significa Alaben Ustedes.

La letra de la versión de Il Divo en cambio es un canto sobre un deseo utópico de que la sociedad cambie desde el corazón de cada persona para ser mejores personas y no exista ningún tipo de mal en el mundo, todo por supuesto, desde la fe cristiana.

The lyrics of the original version made by Leonard Cohen** use many biblical references, for example: the second stanza refers to the case of Samson, one of the last ancient Israelite judges endowed by the Lord with superhuman strength, who falls madly in love with Delilah, a Philistine (the Philistines being enemies of the Israelites) who ends up betraying him by cutting off his hair and handing him over to the Philistines.

The lyrics of the Il Divo version instead is a song about a utopian desire for society to change from the heart of each person to be better people and there is no evil in the world, all of course, from the Christian faith.
