TTT - Hootenanny Time!

This time on #TTT I am sharing a bunch of shots from a bunch of acts at this year's Hootenanny! If you feel the need to know why there is a whole cabaret of hosers performing on stage this big weekend, I cover the hockey tournament part here If not, on to the zany acts that got hazier with every beer I enjoyed!

I gotta admit I don't know the name of many of these acts. I do know they are all hockey teams that competed in the tournament with us. It do remember these guys absolutely killing some funky 70s rock tunes.
I DEFINITELY remember these guys. Not only were they wildly weird looking, they played a PERFECT set of Smashing Pumpkins songs. Apparently they are not the only ones who had that idea...
The4se guys rocked a set of songs by Canadian bands if I remember correctly. Plenty of plaid and I am not sure what they have written on the back of their guitars.
I think these guys did a set as the Golden Girls and tunes like old people.
These guys put together a set of classic hits from deceased artists. I can see Kurt Cobain, Freddy Mercury, Chris Cornell, Ozzy Osbourne, and maybe Kenny G on sax? Great tunes.
This was the second band of the show that did a Smashing Pumpkins set. They went with more of a Halloween theme but nailed it just as well.
These are The Morningstars. We have played them so many dozens of times over the years and they are always a highlight of the Hootenanny. This year, they dressed in tightly fitting rabbit costumes featuring a few bunny toes. The music? Songs about jumping and hopping of course.

The Dufferin Groove

This is my team, the Dufferin Groove. We got a couple rehearsals in to learn a bunch of Travelling Wilburys songs and gave it our best. I have quite a few shots of us but I will save them for another post where I share some views from the stage and the songs we performed.

In the meantime, I will leave you with a tune to listen to in case you have never heard of the Travelling Wilburys. If you are too young to have heard of them, you are in for a treat as they are a supergroup of legendary songwriters including Bob Dylan who is the lead vocalist on this American tale.

That must have been fun, as they aren't professionals bands, might have come out a fun results sometimes
Definitely fun!
The costumes and props certainly get creative, there are some fun mashups, and most acts only get a couple rehearsals. So it is a sport to see what wild ideas can form into a show in a hurry.
