Three Tune Tuesday - Zeke Pickleman!

Back on #TTT to bring you with me on an all new kind of musical adventure! I usually post #thoughtfuldailypost (@Wesphilbin waves the @thoughtfulposts flag) with my tunes. I am again sharing some music made by me with a combination of pent up music, thc and advanced AI tools.

The same bunch of friends are still having a blast writing songs with AI tools. I am learning the prompts better to create the details and feel I am seeking for each and unearthing ideas almost forgotten. I have had the chance to write, record and perform music for the last quarter century so this makes me possibly one of the biggest music fans you know. So, I have PLENTY of inspiration to draw from my favourite bands, songs that were unwritten in the bands I have played in, books of bad poetry, and a love for learning something new.

Heavy Are the Pants
This was song number 4 and I was going for a Tenacious D level funny rock epic. A whimsical tale of the trials one must endure when they have a beautiful ass. Not just for admiring when your posterior has the power to slay a beast that was burning villages in Myanmar. Heavy are the pants with a fantastic ass.

Slug Wars
A running gag with the guys is how funny it would be to zip up into sleeping bags and do battle. We called it slug wars for the visual you would imagine and this song is about harrowing tales of slugwars at the cottage and camping trips. Fat guys and a broken back!

Drowning in the Crazy
For this one, I was trying for a whimsical angle on staying sane during these crazy times using a dark sense of humour. Drinking in all the social media and echo chambers of morons can be too much unless you can learn to keep from drowning in the crazy. Complacency is a dry room... and I don’t live there anymore.

@evileddy

Having real life friends on the chain along with dozens of virtual ones is pretty special. I have to make the time to write more songs and publish them with @3speak but life is quite a lot right about now. 'Til then, I will feature my tunes on @evileddy's channel https://www.youtube.com/@evileddy60 until I can get around to setting myself up.

Artists with AI as a tool can create even more art.

Have you created your own music using AI?

Why, yes I have created my own music using AI!! lol
Haha you are the pioneer of our crew!
How is it creation? Giving a prompt to a program that scans and takes details and/or aspects of other people’s work without permission or without giving credit.
Look, I get that some people have strong feelings about AI, but let's be real.
Accusing every AI music creator of "stealing" without even knowing the process is just lazy.
Not every prompt is "copy this exact song." A lot of us are experimenting, iterating, and creating original combinations.
If you want to have an actual discussion about ethics, fine.
But coming in hot with assumptions doesn't make you the defender of artists....it just makes the conversation pointless.
Good question!
I have been in bands for decades, released albums and performed live with them a hundred times. Absolutely love that.
For me, I have books of prose and lyrics that never made it to songs for the bands so I am just creating songs with different instruments. Only sharing them for folks in case they enjoy them too and understand if people don’t.
Mainly for an additional musical outlet for personal amusement and goofing off with friends doing the same.
Create? More like prompting it to copy other people’s music no?
Oh yer one of those....
One of those who respects people’s Art and doesn’t think stealing details & aspects of people’s work without permission or credit is ok? Yes indeed I am “one of those”. Are u seriously being a sarcastic prick over me saying this? Seriously?
I was being sarcastic, sure, but you also jumped straight from “I make AI music” to accusing me of stealing from artists. That’s a pretty loaded assumption.
Using AI tools does not automatically mean copying someone’s song any more than using Photoshop makes every digital artist a thief. A lot of us are experimenting with new tools, workflows, sounds, and creative processes because the technology is interesting.
You can dislike AI music, that’s fine. But acting like everyone using AI is malicious or unethical by default is not really a fair discussion either.
I read his comment, he was obviously not coming at it and was talking about AI companies. He even brought up how they’ll have legal troubles. He didn’t say anything personally about you. You are a faggot!
Wow, went straight for the slur because I defended using new creative tools.
Really proving your point about "respecting artists" there.
Have a good one.
DV me bitch! I dare you! You fucking scumbag!
Interesting. So "trunpman" (who's been throwing slurs and meltdowns) just sent 92 HIVE to "thefed".

Same person, different account. Got it.
Explains the coordinated aggression.
Anyway, back to the music.
Seriously? You DV’d me in my previous comment? For just giving a different opinion? I wasn’t disrespectful at all. Grow up.
His vote is like .0001 or something! Just ignore it bro!
I’m with ya on AI stealing from artist without giving credit or anything but that will sort it self out in legal system since there’s also big money in labels & publishers. Unfortunately President Trump Is trying to stop lawsuits against AI companies but long term they will have a reckoning on this issue!
Yeah, the vote really isn’t a big deal. 😄
And honestly I think the AI debate is way more nuanced than people make it out to be. Some people act like pressing a button makes someone an artist, while others act like every AI user is some kind of criminal pirate stealing music. Reality is probably somewhere in the middle.
The legal side is definitely going to be messy for years though. No argument there.
You accused me of “copying other people’s music” before even asking how I make anything, so let’s not pretend this started as some perfectly neutral respectful discussion. You came in swinging with an accusation and got attitude back. That’s how the internet works.
As for the downvote, people downvote things they disagree with all the time on Hive. It’s not some grand moral attack. You’re free to dislike AI music. I’m free to disagree with your take on it.
WTF? No on the thanks man. I didn’t ask you for help. I suggest you just stay outta it. In fact no disrespect I’m muting you. This is a crazy weird comment to get here. I don’t think tit for tat is helpful at all. I’m glad I saw this while I was still online. Please don’t do anything “for me”
Peace ✌️
I’m sorry for the late response. I just wanted to help but I can see I overstepped here. Please forgive me @thefed. You have been a friend & I appreciate trading tribes and all the cool stuff we do. Sorry again for overspending and overreacting.
My guy, it’s just a little odd you know? Just don’t do it again please. I do see that clown is saying I’m you & you me just cause we traded tribe token for Hive. Man you were right about one thing, Hive has become a clown show in many corners. People on a decentralized blog / art platform and they defend AI and using it for posts. It’s the model, it attracts greedy fucks and always will. I still like the movie review community though and will stick around a little longer. Take care fake Trump man.
Slug wars is my favorite, but also last one is good, we got similar music taste 😄
That one was inspired a little by Prodigy with the rhythm. I like it hard & heavy and have a few more to share in coming weeks!
What's your take on 100% generated music with no real human input (apart from some prompting)? I hear these songs are already flooding Spotify.
That is probably discussion enough for a post on its own.
I hate effortless AI slop, how it can take the magic of playing an analog instrument and performing live with friends. Between 50,000 and 60,000 fully AI-generated songs are uploaded to Spotify every single day. This is roughly 34% to nearly 40% of all new music entering the platform on a daily basis. So, the margerinization (New Zeke Word) of music is as concerning as the disaster AI/datacenters are for the people and planet.
That being the case, I am loving using it as a tool or another instrument and putting experience I have as a song writer, performer and fan into creating songs I always wanted to, or never would have. I also love how band mates and even people who have never gotten into music are enjoying and feeling enspired by it.
So, 100% AI generated music is soulless slop in my mind. Even though I write all my own lyrics and know exactly what I want in the music from having enjoyed or played it myself, it won't replace the real thing. I love the human inspiration part which we need more of these days.
It’s terrible, and Spotify is indeed one of the worst offenders indeed. It’s just stealing by sampling real music. Literally. The AI is literally using copyrighted material to create “what’s prompted”.
True. I am not a big fan of corporate music platforms and hate how Spotify screws the artists. I do write my own lyrics and you can sample your own voice so it is neat for me to hear these tunes come to life for personal enjoyment. Definitely not for everyone and I definitely understand how people rage against ai.
