Music brings all the memories

Hey! It's my first time writing on this community after reading so many wonderful pieces by writers in here. I have always stay tuned with some of my amazing writers here like @iskawrites.
Growing up as an African child, I have these memories of my late father often enjoying the raegea music. His favourite Rastafarian was Lucky Dube but I never really enjoyed the music back then. After so many years now, I have realised that raegea musics built strong memories of my childhood days in me. Each time when I hear the exceptional sound of it's guiter, drums, keyboard and vocals I find myself driving down memory lane.
Out of curiosity, I began to listen to Lucky Dube musics and I now see the why behind my father's love. Lucky Philip Dube was a South African musician who excelled greatly in his career as a reagea musician and Rastafarian.
He was born at Mpumalanga in South Africa and in his twenty five years of pursuing his music career, Lucky found good luck and was able to take the reagea music to the global height. His lyrics were always clean, friendly, educating and encouraging altogether.
In 1996, he won the best selling African musician in the World Music Award after making a record with his sales in the general market. Lucky Philip Dube died at the age of 43 in 18th October, 2007. His death was a painful one, however it is beautiful to know that his music outlived him, ever living a memory of him in the heart of all of those who loved him.
After reading his biography, I was in ewe as to how Lucky Dube, the man whose music which now stands as a memory of my father to me could be so phenomenal. Listening to some of his musics, I could relate completely to the imagines he painted with words.
"We know where we come from but we do not know where we're going so let's go of apathy and racial discriminations"
In between this line and many other songs of his , Lucky Dube in his time was able to communicate the world's biggest problem to a global audience. He wrote different songs about racial discrimination and encouraged love among people in the world.

Up until now, Lucky Philip Dube musics still stands out and strike a cord in the heart of people. He demanded for a world where love and peace was higher than the hate and war. Most people do not buy the style with which he passed his music but the instruments he choosed to use for his sounds only made him more exceptional in the world record. Prior to his time, there were other reagea musicians but Lucky with determination took the reagea music from the ground and placed it in a height of recognition. If you've listened to his songs, you'll know that he makes each instrument sound out in every record. We can always tell from the sounds that there is a drummer, a guitarist , a keyboardist and the beautiful voices backing him up in the background.
The most beautiful memory I have of my dad is a memory of my dad and us dancing in our living room. Guess whose song we were vibing to? Lucky Dube. Now, his songs has been a part of something significant in my life. I felt bad for Lucky Dube learning that he was murdered at 43 but I still feel grateful for the memories I was able to collect with his musics. I did not learn much about his death but I am happy that he actually lived and he still lives on creating memories for others to do the same.
In one of album, a line seemed to be my father's favorite because I can remember that he kept playing it on repeat. It goes thus.. "Not every black man is a brother, not every white man is an enemy". It's so brave of him to have been plain and truthful in his messages to his world. I am happy that his music still has a place in the world today and my memories of my father still has a place in my heart.
A big thanks to @mipiano and @edge for bringing a community like this. Thanks for having me here music lovers.

Hello @zeegirl, welcome to the community.. I am glad you found time to write something.
Like your dad, my dad loved Lucky Dube too. I know a lot of his songs all thanks to dad.
Luck Dube music is filled with emotions and it stood the test of time because even though time has passed, we are still neck deep in corruption and every other vices our fellow humans especially those in power can conceive.
By the way, you could edit your post and add a few music of his especially those that resonates with you for us to enjoy. I literally grabbed my earphones hoping to listen while I read. But you forgot the songs... Lol. (Remember to add the link from YouTube as reference )

Hey, @hivebuzz
Thanks for the update 😊
Till today, Lucky Dube's songs are my favorite. He stood for justice. He sang against racial discrimination at the peak of South African struggle for independence. He showed solidarity with Zimbabwe. He sang against crime and corruption. He showed his disdain for giving birth to children and throwing them on the street. He encouraged giving rather than taking. I can go on and on. The man is a legend that generations yet unborn would hear about.
His song was powerful that it gives so much answer to relevant situations in south Africa and other African countries. In fact, people across the continent took to his music so deeply that the singer could only hold his live concerts in large stadium that always sold out.
Thanks for coming around 😊
