In support of 2x Hive Musicians! My first visit to the new Barleycorn Venue at Isabelle's Grill!

Good day Hive Music Community!

My name is Zak Ludick, from Cape Town, South Africa. This is the first time I am posting to this community but today I can share something to the Hive community from the perspective of a spectator to a Live event that includes two Hive musicians!

They are @jasperdick and @clairemobey!

Being the husband of a musician, I have started gaining a name for myself in the Cape Town music industry as the "Roadie Husband" since I am there for nearly every band practice and I am there for every live performance.

I am there to assist with the carrying in and carrying out of musical instruments, usually the clean-up after a gig, the camera work that needs to happen while those two are on stage which then often goes into their posts and content here on Hive.

They were preceded by Brig Stanford and Carla Conrad, and then headlined the evening's performance! Both of the other two ladies have quite a following on web2.0 social media.

In our friend group I am THAT guy who constantly invites people to join Hive and teaches them how to do it! I got Clarie and Jasper into it and look how good they are doing? Jasper way surpassed me, and of that I am quite proud really. How much of a waste would it have been if I had not gotten Jasper involved on Hive?!

Perhaps we will get more of them on here in the future!

So I am the roadie, the "guy at the rock show", the number one fan, Mr. 100% attendance. I probably know their set and performance better than anyone and really, I know all their songs.

I also am there to see all the behind-the-scenes images as well.

Last night Claire met a woman with whom she worked with many years ago. They were so excited to see one another and spoke for a long time last night before and after the show.

There is the prep stage where the worst part of stage-fright hits Claire! It happens every time, but once the first lines of the first song comes in, Claire is in the zone and she is a stage performer!

Mobeydick - The Headline act with the dozen or so instruments and "toys"!

This was my vantage point where I sat, watched, had dinner and filmed the performance. I usually record a little bit of each artist's performance and then record the entire set that Claire and Jasper play on stage.

I have stopped trying to record videos for each song in the set. Instead, I record the whole thing and @clairemobey just cuts it up however she would like to post it.

Sometimes there is a break between songs anyway, especially when I see someone is going to speak to me between songs in the set.

My supper was a 250g rump steak with hand cut fries and salad. It was a very nice steak... though I was disappointed that the larger steaks on their menu were sold out.

Maybe the next time Mobeydick performs at the Barleycorn I shall see if they have what I want!
