INTRO
This month I plan to find the best musical albums of various genres. In order to make a playlist that will then be played live. I'm going to share it with you so that we have something to talk about.
I think one of the main things while learning how to use the new audio interface, would be to catch up with the music world.
There are so many genres with sub-genres, we know we have a lot of music to discover. Most of the time I've discovered new music at parties. I do this dynamic of everyone posting a song that they really like.
Even though every album has its signature song and we could just take the best of each album. I think you have to start by listening to all these songs from the same album first.
Even though sometimes not all songs from the same album give us what we want to hear, by doing it this way you tend to learn a lot musically.
Let's listen to some albums.
I don't know why... Whenever I'm going to put together a music set I always start with genres like "Dance, Electronic, House, Future Bass".
Let's see what albums we are going to listen to today. Days ago I discovered a single by Martin Garrix, which has some basses that are out of this world.
So let's start there.

Electronic music has its specific moment to be listened to, like every genre. Let's start with this album which we came to guided by a 2021 single from this artist in collaboration.
Before we talk about that, let's see how about this album.

It has 11 songs and all of them last between 2-3 minutes, the longest being 3 minutes and 44 seconds.
The first song on this album is Follow. It has a female vocal that doesn't appear until 1:44 minutes in. We start off well with this song. A minor scale and good rhythm. I thought it was a good introduction to the album. It has this characteristic sound of the genre, if you don't like electronic music it could seem repetitive, what varies is the dynamics.
The next song is Limitless, it continues with the energy of Follow, but the rhythm becomes more danceable. It changes the mood from the intro to "Well, let's get this party started". Here there are no vocals, only instrumentals.
In each song, he collaborates with different composers, which makes each song like a different situation. Since each one creates a characteristic sound in his compositions.
If we were at a party, each song would be a jump to different situations, for example, you are enjoying the party, but suddenly someone arrives, you stop what you were doing and start talking to this person and then go back to the party. Change the scenario.
This is what happens in the following songs of the album: Reebot and Quantum. With the latter, you feel like you're in a video game. Then it seems like the dawn is breaking on this album. I mean you get the feeling that it's already 5:00 A.M. You have to go home and take a break but you'll be back for more as soon as you recharge your batteries.
Starlight (Keep Me Afloat), is very different from the previous songs. I could say that you are no longer at the party but at home. Thinking, doing your thing before going back to the party again on another different day.
It's not hard to deduce that the DJs' routines could be physically demanding at times. Late nights and long hours sessions.
Finishing listening to this album the truth is very true to the genre, I remember 2015 was something like that. I don't know why I expected something different. But it is my first time listening to a DJ album.
At the end of the album it has another song sung by Shaun Farrugia. So I interpret the album as 2 days of electronic parties and the songs with Shaun, the break of these parties.

Well, it was just an ordinary day and I came across the single "Martin Garrix feat. Tove Lo - Pressure". I'm sure you know Tove Lo, she's the girl who sings Habits. Well I wanted to find more like the song "Pressure", so I searched for something by Martin Garrix.
Maybe if we search for something from the same year, we will find more similar compositions.

I think I got to the sounds I was looking for. I definitely wanted to get something more Dance, as the intention of this set is to get people dancing and having fun. The only thing is that not all of the album has that Dance characteristic. There are a lot of Pop and interpretations that I perceive to be very personal on the part of the artist. It's not all about dancing and having fun.
The album starts with "No One Die from Love". This song made me think, this is it. It starts off too epic. This girl knows what she's doing.
She starts with melodies and starts singing. Out comes the chorus with second voices and a bass joins in, no percussion has started yet. When it seems that the song is about to reach the climax, they place a filter that equalizes the drums that appears to start the verse and the voice is the protagonist to say "I tried my best with you, you claim the same". Good Dance song.
Then it gets very Pop with a little essence of Dance not much leaving a more Pop rhythm. In "2 die 4" you leave a stretch of Dance and then return to Pop but this time combine it a little more. That little bit of Dance is good.
Those basses we were looking for may have been influenced by Tove Lo.
This makes me think something, that we are taking her into account in the results that give some songs like "Pressure" or "Habits in the Hippie Sabotage Remix". Her voice is undoubtedly great.
She ends this album as she started it. A catchy tune. Very good.
This album has an "(Extended Cut) Out..." And a song called "I Like U" appears on it. It's really good too. It was interesting because it's the first time I've listened to a whole album of hers.

Commentaries
We are listening to this album because of a song on this album. The song that made me choose this album to listen to was "On My Knees". Each song lasts between 4-7 minutes.
The whole album has its concept, the sounds are very cool and the synthesizers sound incredible. But for what we are looking to find, this album gives us a few song choices.
It's that kind of album that is just for close listening. It has this style of dancing but I feel like it's too slow developing each song for that. You get a sense of Pop linked to their own style of electronica.

On my Knees. From this album, we will only take one song. The others would be good for a break from the busy music and for something more ambient. But it's not the kind of music I'm looking to put together. Anyway, it was great to get to know their work, listen to them, and see who they are.

Este mes pienso dar con los mejores álbumes musicales de géneros variados. Con el fin de hacer un play list que luego será reproducido en vivo. Lo voy a compartir contigo, para que tengamos de que hablar .
Creo que una de las cosas principales mientras aprendo a como usar la nueva interfaz de audio, sería ponernos al día con el mundo musical.
Hay tantos géneros con subgéneros, que sabemos que tenemos mucha música por descubrir. La mayor parte de las veces he descubierto nueva música en fiestas. Hago esta dinámica de que cada quién coloque una canción que le guste mucho.
A pesar de que cada álbum tiene su canción estrella y podríamos simplemente tomar lo mejor de cada álbum. Pienso que hay que comenzar por escuchar todas estas canciones de un mismo álbum primero.
A pesar de que a veces no todas las canciones de un mismo álbum nos dan lo que queremos escuchar, al hacerlo de esta manera se suele aprender mucho musicalmente.
Vamos a escuchar algunos álbumes
No se porque... Siempre que voy a armar algún set de música empiezo por géneros como "Dance, Electrónica, House, Future Bass".
Veamos que álbumes vamos a escuchar hoy. Hace días descubrí un single de Martin Garrix, el cual tiene unos bajos que son de otro mundo.

La música electrónica tiene su momento especifico para ser escuchado, como todo género. Comenzamos por este álbum al cual llegamos guiado por un single del 2021 de este artista en colaboración.
Antes de hablar sobre eso, veamos que tal este álbum.
Comentarios
Tiene 11 canciones y todas ellas duran entre 2-3 minutos, siendo la más larga de 3 minutos y 44 segundos.
La primera canción de este álbum es Follow . Tiene una voz femenina que no aparece sino en el minuto 1:44. Comenzamos bien con esta canción. Una escala menor y buen ritmo. Me parece que fue una buena introducción al álbum. Tiene este sonido característico del género, si no te gusta mucho la electrónica te puede podría parecer repetitiva, lo que va variando es la dinámica.
La siguiente canción es Limitless, sigue con la energía de Follow, pero el ritmo se vuelve más bailable. Cambia el ambiente de introducción a "Bueno, vamos a comenzar esta fiesta". Acá no hay voces, solo instrumental.
En cada canción colabora con distintos compositores, lo cual hace que cada canción sea como una situación distinta. Ya que cada quién crea un sonido característico en sus composiciones.
Si estuviéramos en una fiesta, cada canción seria un salto a distintas situaciones, por ejemplo: Estas disfrutando de la fiesta, pero de repente llega alguien, dejas de hacer lo que estabas haciendo y empiezas a hablar con esta persona para luego regresar a la fiesta. Cambia el escenario.
Es lo que sucede en las siguientes canciones del albúm. Reebot y Quantum. Con esta ultima, te sientes dentro de un videojuego. Luego pareciera que ya empieza a amanecer en este álbum. Me refiero a que da la sensación de que ya van siendo las 5:00 A.M. hay que ir a casa tomar un descanso pero volverás por más a penas recargues energias.
Starlight (Keep Me Afloat), es muy distinta a las canciones anteriores. Podría decir que ya no estas en la fiesta, sino en casa. Pensando, haciendo tus cosas antes de volver a la fiesta de nuevo otro día diferente.
No es difícil deducir que la rutinas de los DJs podría ser a veces demandante físicamente. Trasnochos y sesiones de muchas horas.
Terminando de escuchar este álbum la verdad es muy fiel al género, recuerdo que 2015 era algo así. No se porque esperaba algo distinto. Pero es primera vez que me escucho un álbum de un DJ.
Al final del álbum tiene otra canción cantada por Shaun Farrugia. Así que el álbum lo interpreto como 2 días de fiesta electrónica y las canciones con Shaun, el descanso de estas fiestas.

Creo que llegue a los sonidos que estaba buscando. Sin duda quería conseguir algo más Dance, ya que la intención de este set, es que la gente baile y se divierta. Lo único es que no todo el albúm tiene esa caracteristica Dance. Hay mucho Pop e interpretaciones que percibo muy personales de parte de la artista. No todo es bailar y divertirse.
El álbum comienza con "No one Die from love". Esta canción me hizo pensar, esto es. Comienza demasiado épico. Esta chica sabe lo que hace.
Comienza con melodías, y empieza a cantar. Sale el coro con segundas voces y se une un bajo, aún no ha comenzado la percusión. Cuando parece que la canción va a llegar al climax colocan un filtro que ecualiza la batería que aparece para empezar la estrofa y la voz queda de protagonista para decir "I tried my best with you, you claim the same". El sentimiento hermano. Buena canción de Dance.
Después se pone muy Pop con una pequeña esencia de Dance no mucho dejandole un ritmo más Pop. En "2 die 4" si le deja un tramo de Dance, para luego volver al Pop pero esta vez combinandolo un poco más. Ese pedacito de Dance esta bueno.
Esos bajos que buscabamos puede que si estaban influenciados por Tove lo.
Lo que me hace pensar en algo, que la estamos tomando en cuenta en los resultados que dan algunas canciones como "Pressure" o "Habits en el Remix de Hippie Sabotage". Su voz sin duda es genial.
Termina este álbum como lo empezó. Una melodía pegajosa. Muy bueno.
Este álbum tiene un "(Extended Cut) Out"... Y en ello aparece una canción llamada "I like U". Es muy buena también. Fue interesante porque es primera vez que escucho todo un álbum de ella.

Estamos escuchando este álbum por una canción del mismo. La canción que me hizo elegir este álbum para escucharlo fue "On my Knees". Cada canción dura entre 4-7 minutos.
Todo el álbum tiene su concepto, los sonidos son muy geniales y los sintetizadores suenan increible. Pero para lo que estamos buscando encontrar, este álbum nos da pocas opciones de canciones.
Es esa clase de álbum que es solo para escuchar con atención. Tiene este estilo de bailar pero siento que es muy lento el desarrollo de cada canción para ello. Se percibe el Pop ligado a su propio estilo de electronica.
Canciones que me gustaron de este álbum para el set.
On my Knees. De este álbum solo tomaremos una canción. Estarían buenas las demás para un descanso de la música muy movida y que exista algo más ambiental. Pero no es la clase de música que busco reunir. De todas forma estuvo genial conocer su trabajo, escucharlos y ver quienes son.
