Let's Take A Look At Gachiakuta

Evening folks
Tonight, I bring to you a new series that was released in July of this year. After I finally finished
The Unaware Atelier Meister series, I was having a look on the gold ol Crunchyroll and found Gachiakuta.

After reading the description, it reminded me of a series I rather enjoyed, which is called Deadman Wonderland. Sadly, it only had 1 series due to issues with viewer ratings etc. It was a pretty cool series though.
Year of release: 2025
Aired: July 2025 and still running
Number of seasons: 1 so far
Number of episodes: 24
Studio: Bones Film
Genre: Action, Fantasy
Episode run time: 23 minutes per episode
Age rating: PG-13
My rating: 8/10

The story starts with a City in the sky, where the rich throw their waste into the pit. The pit is the land beneath the city. Not only is their waste thrown off the island, but the people that they no longer want in their city also face the same fate.
Rudo, is a resident of the Slums of this floating city. Rudo sees the discarded trash that the residents throw away as priceless things that can be reused/made anew.
Despite his adoptive father, Regto, repeatedly warning Rudo to stop going through the discarded trash, Rudo continues to do so. Seeking reusable items that are discarded.

A mystery masked fellow murders Regto, with Rudo being wrongly accused of Regto's death.
Rudo is sentenced to death and thrown down into the pit.

This is the start of Rudo's new life in the pit, alongside some pretty interesting characters.
Along with some big ass trash monsters and complete psychos!

Now we get to the musical part of the review.
First up is the opening song for episodes 2-13 but also the ending song for episode 1.
HUGs by Paledusk, which is an absolute banger. Like, seriously it's a really great song. Gives me similar vibes to Otonoke by Creepy Nuts.
Intro version:
Full length Hugs is here:
I don't normally do this, but the song is so good that the 1 minute 27 second intro just doesn't do the song enough justice, but 5 minutes 27 seconds does it!
What makes this song really appealing is that it has so many different types of Metal genres in it that it's great.
The song really matches the grittiness of the series, especially the dirty trash monsters.
Next up, we have LET’S JUST CRASH by Mori Calliope. This is the opening song from Episode 14.
This is another good-fitting song for this series. They really hit it out of the park with the song choices.
Now we get to the ending songs.
HUGs is the episode one song, which is epic!
Tomoshibi by DUSTCELL is the ending song fro episodes 2-13
And finally, we have Ban by Karanoah, which is the ending song for episode 14 onwards.
I've never seen such a great music lineup on a series in such a long time.
It's just great that I fell into this series.

It's very interesting, I'll watch it and see what it's like.
Its great. I'm up to episode 15. It came out at the wrong time though sadly.
Released alongside Dan Da Dan season 2 so it seems to be a hidden gem so far
sera bueno verla, gracias
Dan Dan Dan I'm watching it and you never get bored watching it, there are so many things going on at the same time and it's hard to get bored.
It took a lot of watching to grow on me. It does seem messy to me, but it's not bad at all

Good review! such a detailed one! I liked the way you described the world of Gachiakuta and the life of Rudo. Combination of action, fantasy, and music appears to be unbelievable. I also appreciate the way you brought out the songs, they bring the series to life. I want to immediately begin watching it due to your review. Fantastic work on the anarchy and the beauty of the show!
