Let's Take A Look At Dan Da Dan

Evening folks, tonight I bring to you the series Dan Da Dan, a Nominee for Anime of the Year 2025 in the Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

First off I am just gonna come out and say it, WHAT THE F**K IS THIS ANIME!!!

The first episode, about 10 minutes in, and this is one of the lines:

I'll let you suckle my teats boy, if you let me gobble your dong.

Yup, that is genuinely what this Anime is about.... You know where this series is going, don't you 😅

I'd best get started with the actual story for the series.

We have Momo Ayase, our leading lady, who is reeling from her recent breakup with her now ex-boyfriend. Momo is a popular high school girl who, on her depressed and angry shuffle through the school, comes upon the socially awkward Ken Takakura. Momo stands up for Ken while some of his classmates bully him in class. Momo has no idea who Ken is, but she does it just to be nice. Once her good deed is done, she leaves the classroom.

Ken takes Momo's kindness the wrong way, believing that he has finally found a friend who has the same obsession as him. The good ol Alien and UFO fanatic that he is.
Much to his disappointment, Momo doesn't believe in Aliens, but she does believe in the Occult. This causes some friction between the two, leading them to try and prove the other is wrong in their beliefs.

This is how we meet the rather lovely Turbo Granny

This lovely spirit has a nasty reputation and loves putting a curse on you!

At the same time, Momo gets to meet the Alien race called the Serpo's. An all-male race from the planet Serpo. They are here to reproduce by taking our 'Bananas'.
I still have zero clue why a woman has a banana, but hey ho, they believe it 😅

Considering their conflicting beliefs, the 2 of them find themselves forming a very unexpected friendship.

This bond continues to grow as the series goes on. After many encounters with the supernatural world and some rather entertaining urban legend encounters, along with some rather odd alien encounters, it becomes quite entertaining, and you see the pair grow in both their relationship and their skills. Both developing some interesting abilities, I won't say anymore as it would ruin some entertaining scenes.

Falling wash tubs, missing genitals, ecchi content ,and more, this is what Dan Da Dan brings to the table for all to view.

The art style is great, it does get a bit too bright and colourful in parts, but at the same time, it's a great-looking art style. I really appreciated this about the series. Some of my recent watches lacked the nicer artwork that I tend to try and go for.

Next is the great part of these posts, THE MUSIC!!!!

First up, we will go with the opening song, Otonoke by Creepy Nuts.
This song has taken some time to grow on me, if I am honest, but now that I have actually listened to the full song, I really enjoy it a lot more. Definitely worth giving

It does come out quick with the heavy beats, but it's pretty fun once you get used to it.

Next up, we finish with the ending theme TAIDADA by ZUTOMAYO

I'm not really sure about this one. It starts off ok, the video for the song is funny with Turbo Granny Cat, but when I take into consideration the actual song, I just feel that it doesn't fit the series well. I haven't listened to it much as I get a bit bored of it after a short while. I will make an effort to give it another chance at a later date though. It's only fair for their hard work in creating a singing the song.
