Let's Take A Look At The Detective Is Already Dead

Tonight, I bring to you a series that I have tried and tried to watch, but I can never finish the first episode!

The Detective Is Already Dead or Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru.

This series gives us Kimihiko Kimizuka, a guy who somehow manages to stumble into crimes of all sorts. He loses track of just how many crimes he has stumbled into and decides that he is a magnet for trouble and there is nothing he can do about it. He has become a person of interest to the police, it really has gotten that bad for the poor guy.

The episode starts with a quick overview of the above, and then he ends up getting kidnapped by a bunch of guys in black suits. They tell him he has to carry an oversized briefcase on a plane trip overseas.
That is it. No reason why; he just has to do it. It's a great plot hook for the audience, as you can see 😒

While onboard the flight, one of the stewardesses puts out an announcement asking if there are any detectives on board the flight. What sort of bloody plotline is this...

This is where Kimihiko meets a young silver-haired woman who goes by the codename Siesta. Siesta claims that she is a legendary detective who is renowned for her skills. A bit of a random statement and plot, but here we are. This is a plane hijacking investigation with a spin.

Siesta calls on Kimihiko to be her sidekick for this investigation. He refuses her, but eventually, after much insistence from Siesta, he decides to join her and be her Dr Watson. A nice little reference to good ol Sherlock Holmes.

They meet the hijacker in question, codenamed Bat, who has taken over the plane and threatens to crash the plane. He says he will allow the plane to continue on its journey, passengers included, if Siesta can deduce why he has hijacked said plane.
A little back and forth ensues, and voila, Siesta comes out victorious. At least, I think she does. It is a bit of a boring start to an episode.

Then, Siesta goes on about a secret organization and all sorts of stuff that I didn't really follow out of boredom. I may be hating on it a bit too much, but dayum, it's a dull series.

Bat turns out to be a cyborg or something or other, with a big ass tentacle coming out of his left ear. Yup, some real Hentai shit right there folks!
Nothing weird happens with it, luckily, but the look was just not needed.

We then find out what was in the briefcase, and the heist ends.

Next we find Siesta moving in with Kimihiko, which is another random ass plot hole, considering she only met the guy like a day ago.

Overall, it's an odd series that just isn't interesting. I never managed to finish the episode, if I'm honest 😅

A positive is that the art style is nice-looking, very clean, and easy on the eyes.

The other positive is that the Intro and ending songs are really damn good.
It drives me mad when a series has an amazing soundtrack, but the series just lets the songs down so bad!

First up we have the intro Koko de Ikiteru. by Mary x jon-YAKITORY, a really nice song with beautiful lyrics, and the singer's voice is amazing.

Next up we have the ending song Kodou by Nana Kagura. Another really good song that, again, is beautiful. Lovely lyrics, and the singer's voice is just amazing.

I love both songs and have added them to my music list.
