Cuatro Review: The @bertrayo Álvarez Experience [Esp-Eng]
No todos los días uno tiene la posibilidad de hacer una reseña sobre un instrumento musical construido por un hiver. Así que esta es una oportunidad muy especial que celebro.
Andrés Álvarez, conocido en Hive como @bertrayo, es un músico venezolano y también es luthier dedicado a la fabricación de cuatros, guitarras, ukuleles (algo que se me olvidó mencionar en el video y que es uno de sus puntos fuertes).
Mi primer contacto con él fue en esta plataforma y además lo conocí como músico, pues él sube con regularidad sus interpretaciones con el cuatro como instrumento solista.
Andrés vive en Cumaná, la primogénita en el continente americano, en el oriente venezolano, en el Estado Sucre y allí aprendió el oficio de luthier, heredando los conocimientos de los reconocidos Hermanos Figueroa, reconocidos fabricantes de instrumentos musicales de esa ciudad.
Podría seguir hablando de Andrés Álvares en esta parte escrita, pero entonces perdería sentido el video, el cual está en español y con subtítulos en inglés, para que cualquiera pueda conocer más de él en esta faceta como fabricante de instrumentos.
Así que me voy a limitar a invitar a todos a ver el video y conocer en detalle su forma de trabajo y mi opinión acerca de uno de sus instrumentos, el cuatro número 19, llamado por él "El Gallo de la Medianoche".

Andrés Álvarez, known on Hive as @bertrayo, is a Venezuelan musician and also a luthier dedicated to building cuatros, guitars, and ukuleles (something I forgot to mention in the video, and which is one of his strengths).
My first contact with him was on this platform, and I also got to know him as a musician, as he regularly uploads his performances with the cuatro as a solo instrument.
Andrés lives in Cumaná, the first-born city in the American continent, located in Eastern Venezuela, in Sucre State. There he learned the luthier trade, inheriting the knowledge of the renowned Figueroa Brothers, famous musical instrument makers from that city.
I could continue talking about Andrés Álvarez in this written part, but then the video would lose its meaning. The video is in Spanish with English subtitles, so that anyone can learn more about him in this role as an instrument maker.
So I will limit myself to inviting everyone to watch the video and learn in detail about his working methods and my opinion about one of his instruments, cuatro number 19, which he calls "El Gallo de la Medianoche" (The Midnight Rooster).
