RE: Coastal Noise or Party Music? - Learning not to Hate Vallenato

In our countries it's a real problem how so many people have to listen to music so loud... I can understand you!!!

Vallenato has another problem, there is one, the traditional one that is very nice and meaningful, with popular roots. On the other hand, there is a kind of commercial Vallenato, made to listen to it loud, and lyrics that aren't so good (many drama receipts and "love stories" that aren't such).

I have to say that the good one, is very good!

Nice review!

Yeah, that's what I figured. The subtle nuances with every kind of music. Thanks for reaffirming it. Now I'm pretty sure, the most popular picks I posted are probably of the not-so-good variety. At least that's what para beber and corta venas suggest.

Yes, I'm afraid you're right... I'm not an expert, but I think your selection was of "commercial vallenato" only, so far I could hear.
But that's normal, it's called "Commercial" because it's the most consumed, so don't worry about your choices...😉

But that is actually perfect for the post, since I am sure I have been also exposed to mostly commercial Vallenato. Though I am sure, at some point I am going to get to explore the more interesting traditional variety, and most importantly, learn to tell the difference!
