The closest thing to a mermaid I've had the opportunity to observe are manatees in an aquarium. I've also read mythological stories from different literary sources that are the product of human fears and desires. Many of these stories arise from sailors and their search for superficial and momentary happiness. Often, upon hearing the siren's song and being attracted by her beauty, they crash against the reefs and are shipwrecked. These days, there are many things that distract us from the most important things and that give us momentary pleasure. One example is mobile devices like the cell phone, a modern-day siren. Although technology has great benefits, if not balanced, it can distract us. I recently saw a video of a person falling off a cliff while looking at their phone. This drastic example shows us that something so small and insignificant can lead to destruction. Balance is necessary. I hope you enjoy my post this week. Blessings.

Lo más cerca de una sirena y que he tenido la oportunidad de observar son los manatíes en un acuario. También he leído historias mitológicas de diferentes fuentes literarias que son producto de miedos y deseos de la humanidad. Muchas de esas historias surgen de los navegantes y de su búsqueda de felicidad superficial y momentánea. Muchas veces, al escuchar el canto de la sirena y al ser atraídos por su belleza, chocan contras los arrecifes, y naufragan. En la actualidad hay muchas cosas que nos distraen de las cosas más importantes, y que nos generan placer momentáneo. Un ejemplo son los dispositivos móviles como el teléfono, una sirena moderna. Aunque la tecnología tiene grandes beneficios, si no se tiene un equilibrio, pueden desenfocarnos. Hace poco vi un video de una persona que caía en un precipicio mientras observaba su teléfono. Este ejemplo drástico nos muestra que algo tan pequeño e insignificante puede llevarnos a la destrucción. Un equilibrio es necesario. Espero que disfruten de mi entrada esta semana. Bendiciones.
