Esta semana nos encontramos en el Hive Open Mic 186, donde exploramos la temática: "Cine". Quiero felicitar a la amiga y reciente Artista Destacada de nuestra comunidad, @mairene1 por esta increíble elección. El cine y la música tienen una relación simbiótica maravillosa, estas generan una atmosfera atractiva, te conecta con diferentes emociones e incluso nos cuentan historias. Hoy les comparto mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Reflection», una balada pop con influencias de R&B compuesta por David Zippel y Matthew Wilder. La canción fue lanzada en 1998 como parte de la banda sonora de la película de Disney "Mulan" e interpretada por Christina Aguilera. La letra de la canción habla sobre la identidad y la búsqueda del propio ser. Una tendencia es el mundo es conservar el anonimato, y muchas veces es por temor a ser criticados, o juzgados por sus acciones. Cinema and music have a wonderful symbiotic relationship, they generate an attractive atmosphere, connect you with different emotions and even tell us stories. Today I share with you my trumpet performance of “Reflection,” an R&B-influenced pop ballad composed by David Zippel and Matthew Wilder. The song was released in 1998 as part of the soundtrack of the Disney film "Mulan" and performed by Christina Aguilera. The lyrics of the song talk about identity and the search for one's own being. A trend throughout the world is to maintain anonymity, and many times it is for fear of being criticized, or judged for their actions. This piece of music has a moderate tempo and is written in the key of B minor. Since I was very young I have been a fan of Christina, her voice is incredibly bright and radiant.

De Mulán aprendemos que la identidad es una construcción social y que cada persona tiene el derecho de ser ella misma, sin importar lo que digan los demás. He tenido la oportunidad de ver la película animada, la secuela e incluso la versión en imagen real. Creo que muchas personas están en esa fase de autodescubrimiento, de quienes verdaderamente somos, de donde venimos y cuál es nuestro destino. Afortunadamente, he aprendido algunas verdades que me han ayudado a conocerme, y reconocer el propósito de mi existencia. Puedo decir con gran satisfacción que soy un hijo de Dios, y que tengo el potencial de lograr todo lo que me proponga. También quiero contarles que me encanta la historia, y como he contado antes, me gusta estudiar mi genealogía. Me encanta descubrir de donde vengo, que hicieron mis antepasados, aprender de sus experiencias y avanzar hacia el futuro. Eso me ha brindado bases sólidas acerca de quién soy y de lo que puedo llegar a ser.

From Mulan we learn that identity is a social construction and that each person has the right to be themselves, no matter what others say. I've had the opportunity to see the animated film, the sequel, and even the live-action version. I think that many people are in that phase of self-discovery, of who we truly are, where we come from and what our destiny is. Fortunately, I have learned some truths that have helped me know myself, and recognize the purpose of my existence. I can say with great satisfaction that I am a child of God, and that I have the potential to achieve everything I set my mind to. I also want to tell you that I love history, and as I have said before, I like to study my genealogy. I love discovering where I come from, what my ancestors did, learning from their experiences and moving towards the future. That has given me solid foundations about who I am and what I can become.
