Let It Go from "Frozen" (Cover) by @yisusth

A cordial greeting to the music community. I'm happy to share my trumpet interpretation of "Let It Go," a ballad composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for the Disney animated film Frozen (2013). I first heard this song at the movies; I found the lyrics hilarious, and several friends and I walked around the mall singing it. The Spanish version we enjoyed was by Martina Stoessel. The piece is in Bb major with a 4/4 time signature and a rhythmic pattern of eighth and quarter notes. The dynamics have extreme contrasts, ranging from piano-like to loud, marked notes and sudden decline. The lyrics speak of freedom, emancipation, and identity. They progressively evolve from self-censorship to self-affirmation, using metaphors of ice and storm to represent their repressed identity and subsequent liberation.

Un cordial saludo a la comunidad musical. Me alegra compartir mi interpretación de trompeta de "Let It Go", una balada compuesta por Kristen Anderson-Lopez y Robert López para la película animada de Disney Frozen (2013). La primera vez que escuché este tema fue en el cine, la letra me pareció cómica y junto a varios amigos caminamos por todo el centro comercial cantándola. La versión en español que disfrutamos fue la de Martina Stoessel. La pieza musical se encuentra en Bb Mayor con una cifra indicadora de compas de 4/4 y un patrón rítmico de corcheas y negras. La dinámica tiene contrastes extremos que van desde lo piano a lo fuerte, notas marcadas y declive repentino. La letra habla de libertad, emancipación e identidad. Y progresivamente evoluciona de la autocensura a la autoafirmación, utilizando metáforas del hielo y la tormenta para representar su identidad reprimida y su posterior liberación.

We live on a spaceship with beautiful and diverse characteristics, but with complex human beings. I consider one of the most absurd things about humanity to be war. Today we are in the midst of many conflicts. Envy, greed, and hatred use all their resources to rob the world of peace. In addition, there are internal things that can rob us of peace. Wealth, fame, and temporary pleasures can cloud our minds, while righteousness, love, and faith can help us find inner peace. I love to think about the analogy of storms in our lives, and how we can overcome or cope with them. Prevention is a key to peace. Yes, we prepare ourselves with an umbrella and the appropriate clothing. No matter how strong the storm is, we can weather it with patience and without stress. Storms will always occur, and they are part of our daily experiences. We can find peace in the midst of the hurricane.

Vivimos en una nave espacial con hermosas y diversas características, pero con seres humanos complejos. Considero que una de las cosas más absurdas de la humanidad es la guerra. Hoy día estamos en medio de muchos conflictos. La envidia, la avaricia y el odio emplean todos sus recursos para arrebatarle al mundo la paz. Además, existen cosas internas que pueden robarnos la paz. La riqueza, la fama, y los placeres temporales pueden ofuscar nuestras mentes, mientras que la rectitud, el amor, y la fe pueden ayudarnos a encontrar la paz interior. Me encanta pensar en la analogía de las tormentas en nuestra vida, y el cómo podemos superarlas o sobrellevarlas. La prevención es una llave a la paz. Sí, nos preparamos con un paraguas, y la vestimenta adecuada. No importa cuán fuerte sea la tempestad, podemos sobrellevarla con paciencia y sin necesidad de estresarnos. Las tormentas siempre ocurrirán, y son parte de nuestras vivencias cotidianas. Podemos encontrar paz en medio del huracán.
