Greetings to all musicians and music fans. Today, I share with you my trumpet interpretation of "Somethin' Stupid", a ballad composed by C. Carson Parks. Among my favorite versions are the one by Frank Sinatra and his daughter Nancy, I also like the one by Robbie Williams with Nicole Kidman. The song is about a young couple who reunite after a breakup and realize that they still love each other. The lyrics are simple and direct, but convey a powerful message about the enduring power of love. This piece of music is in the key of C major and has a moderate tempo that combines genres such as Pop and Country. The simple, diatonic melody and homophonic harmony create a feeling of innocence and sincerity. Their dynamics are soft yet intimate, and the mood is romantic and nostalgic. I had the desire to record it with two voices, but due to time constraints I decided to record it with the main melody.

Saludos a todos los músicos y aficionados de la música. Hoy les comparto mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Somethin' Stupid» una balada compuesta por C. Carson Parks. Entre mis versiones favoritas están la de Frank Sinatra y su hija Nancy, también me gusta la de Robbie Williams con Nicole Kidman. La canción habla sobre una pareja joven que se reencuentra después de una ruptura y se dan cuenta de que todavía se aman. La letra es sencilla y directa, pero transmite un poderoso mensaje sobre el poder perdurable del amor. Esta pieza musical está en la tonalidad de do mayor y tiene un tempo moderado que combina géneros como el Pop y el Country. La melodía simple y diatónica y la armonía homofónica crean una sensación de inocencia y sinceridad. Su dinámica es suave y a la vez íntima, y el estado de ánimo es romántico y nostálgico. Tenía el deseo de grabarla a dos voces, pero por cuestión de tiempo me decidí a realizarla con la melodía principal.

Patience is a quality that can be learned and improved over time. If there is one thing I am sure of, it is that the musician needs to cultivate patience with himself, with others, and even when inspired things happen. When I started studying the trumpet it was frustrating not being able to play the notes I expected. It was like a fight between expectations and reality. Musical practice requires time, effort and dedication. I remember on one occasion I had to study a lesson with the trumpet that had progressive key changes. Among the most important challenges was breathing, air dosage, and completing the task without making mistakes. Believe me, I spent months practicing and it was not an easy task. Today I can even interpret it by heart. Patience was the key to success. If you feel that you have a difficult task, do not give up, time and your determination to achieve it will bring you closer to the goal.

La paciencia es una cualidad que se puede aprender y mejorar con el tiempo. Si hay algo de lo que estoy seguro es que el músico necesita cultivar la paciencia consigo mismo, con los demás e incluso cuando suceden cosas inspiradas. Cuando comencé a estudiar con la trompeta era frustrante no poder tocar las notas que yo esperaba. Era como una lucha entre las expectativas y la realidad. La práctica musical requiere tiempo, esfuerzo y dedicación. Recuerdo en una oportunidad tenía que estudiar una lección con la trompeta que tenía cambios de tonalidad de manera progresiva. Entre los retos más importantes estaba la respiración, la dosificación del aire, y completar la tarea sin equivocarme. Créanme, dure meses practicando y no fue tarea fácil. Hoy puedo interpretarla hasta de memoria. La paciencia fue la clave del éxito. Si sientes que tienes una tarea difícil, no te rindas, el tiempo y tu determinación para lograrlo, te acercarán a la meta.
