A cordial greeting to the beautiful Open Mic community. This week, #269, we explore the theme: "The Last Time." I'm happy to share my trumpet performance of "That's All," a jazz standard composed by Bob Haymes and Alan Brandt in 1952. I've heard versions by great artists such as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, and Michael Bublé. The lyrics have a charming message about true love, based on the simple and beautiful things in life. True love doesn't need to be ostentatious; it needs to be constant and authentic. I've performed this song in the key of C major; the original version is likely in that key or Bb major. There are versions where it's a slow ballad, and others where it has a moderate swing. The melody is expressive and combines long phrases with long notes.

Un cordial saludo a esta bella comunidad de Open Mic. En esta semana #269, exploramos la temática: “The Last Time”. Me siento feliz de compartir mi interpretación con mi trompeta de «That's All», un estándar de jazz compuesto por Bob Haymes y Alan Brandt en 1952. He tenido la oportunidad de escuchar versiones de grandes artistas como Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé y Michael Bublé. La letra tiene un mensaje encantador que habla sobre el amor sincero, y está basado en cosas simples y bellas de la vida. El amor verdadero no necesita ostentoso, sino ser constante y autentico. Este tema lo he interpretado en la tonalidad de C mayor, es probable que la versión original se encuentre en ese tono o en Bb Mayor. Existen versiones donde es una balada lenta, y en otras tiene un swing moderado. La melodía es expresiva y combina frases largas con notas largas.
No one knows how long they'll be on earth. Every day could be the last. It's important to live life to the fullest and take advantage of the opportunities God gives us. This life is an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to share with the people we love. We don't know if tomorrow will come, if it will be the last chance to hug someone, to express our love, or even to forgive. Because our time is limited, it's better to invest it than to waste it senselessly. When we reach the end of our days, we can look back on our lives and say we've lived happily ever after. The purpose of our existence is to be happy. No matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, even in the darkness we can see lights of hope. It makes me happy when I break away from the daily routine, eat something tasty, travel to a pleasant destination, and spend time with my family and friends. Nadie sabe cuánto tiempo durará sobre la tierra. Cada día puede ser la última vez. Es importante vivir al máximo y aprovechar las oportunidades que Dios nos da. Esta vida es una oportunidad para crecer, para aprender y para compartir con las personas que amamos. No sabemos si el mañana llegará, si será la última oportunidad de abrazar a alguien, de expresarle que la amamos, e incluso de perdonar. Debido a que nuestro tiempo es limitado, es mejor invertirlo que gastarlo sin sentido. Al llegar al final de nuestros días, podemos ver en retrospectiva nuestras vidas y decir que hemos vivido felices a plenitud. El propósito de nuestra existencia es ser felices. No importa en qué circunstancias nos encontremos, incluso en las tinieblas podemos ver luces de esperanza. Me hace feliz cuando me salgo de la rutina diaria, me como algo sabroso, viajo a un destino agradable, y comparto con mi familia y mis amigos. Espero que disfruten de esta bella interpretación. La vida es tan corta y pasa tan rápido que no nos damos cuenta que nos estamos perdiendo de grandes momentos por estar tan ocupados preparándonos para el futuro. A veces tenemos que pasar por una situación difícil para entender lo valiosa que es la vida.
