Greetings everyone, at Hive Open Mic Week #237 we celebrate the strength, diversity and achievements of women. The theme is “Long Live Women!” I am pleased to share my trumpet performance of “Girl on Fire”, a genre-blending song by Alicia Keys, Jeff Bhasker, Salaam Remi and Billy Squier. The lyrics speak of a strong, independent and determined woman who refuses to be defined by others. Fire represents passion, energy and inner strength and symbolizes the ability to rise from the ashes and overcome any obstacle. Some important events in Alicia’s life such as the birth of her son Egypt and her marriage to Swizz Beatz made her reflect on her own identity as a woman and mother and feel a renewed strength and determination. The melody is beautiful and has a steady and energetic beat. I have always loved Alicia Keys, she is an amazing singer and pianist.

Saludos a todos, en el Hive Open Mic Semana #237 celebramos la fuerza, la diversidad y los logros de las mujeres. La temática es "¡Vivan las mujeres!". Tengo el agrado de compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Girl on Fire», una canción que combina géneros como el R&B y el Hip Hop compuesta por Alicia Keys, Jeff Bhasker, Salaam Remi y Billy Squier. La letra habla de una mujer fuerte, independiente y decidida, que se niega a ser definida por los demás. El fuego representa la pasión, la energía y la fuerza interior y simboliza la capacidad de renacer de las cenizas y de superar cualquier obstáculo. Algunos eventos importantes en la vida de Alicia como el nacimiento de su hijo Egypt y su matrimonio con Swizz Beatz, la hicieron reflexionar sobre su propia identidad como mujer y madre, y a sentir una renovada fuerza y determinación. La melodía es hermosa y tiene un ritmo constante y enérgico. Siempre me ha encantado Alicia Keys, ella es una cantante y pianista increíble.
