Hive Open Mic Week #293 | On My Own - Les Misérables (Cover) by @yisusth
A warm greeting to this beautiful community. In Hive Open Mic #293, we explore the theme: “Opening Seas.” I am pleased to share my trumpet interpretation of «On My Own», a beautiful dramatic musical ballad from Les Misérables, written by Claude-Michel Schönberg, Alain Boublil, and Herbert Kretzmer. I have had the opportunity to watch series, movies, and musicals based on Victor Hugo's novel. The lyrics speak of unrequited love. Éponine, while walking the streets of Paris, imagines a life with Marius, even though she knows he loves Cosette. If you haven’t read the book, I recommend it. I love its message of redemption, justice, and dignity. This song begins in the key of D Major, then modulates to Bb Major, and finally ends in F Major. The melody has wide leaps and long phrases with emotional climbs. The tempo is slow with irregular and dramatic phrases.

Un cordial saludo para esta bella comunidad. En el Hive Open Mic #293, exploramos el tema: “Opening Seas". Tengo el agrado de compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de «On My Own», una hermosa balada musical dramática de Les Misérables, escrita por Claude-Michel Schönberg, Alain Boublil y Herbert Kretzmer. He tenido la oportunidad de ver series, películas y musicales de la novela de Victor Hugo. La letra habla de un amor no correspondido. Éponine mientras camina en las calles de parís, imagina una vida junto a Marius, aunque sabe que él ama a Cosette. Si no han leído el libro, se los recomiendo. Me encanta su mensaje de redención, justicia y la dignidad. Esta canción comienza en la tonalidad de D Mayor, luego modula a Bb Mayor, y finalmente cierra en F mayor. La melodía tiene saltos amplios y frases largas con ascensos emocionales. El ritmo es lento con frases irregulares y frases dramáticas.
I remember that as a child I used to watch the movie The Ten Commandments (1956). It was already a tradition to watch it during Easter week. This event is in chapter 14 of the Book of Exodus and talks about when Moses, by God's command, parts the Red Sea so that the Israelites can escape from Egypt. We all have obstacles in life that can sometimes seem impossible. I firmly believe that for God nothing is impossible. He can part the seas, or open paths where there are none. I love remembering experiences where it seemed like there was an impassable sea, and then, when I started rowing, I began to discover opportunities, and small yet meaningful miracles. In the end, looking back, I can see that every small step, every difficult path, was overcome with faith. We may need to overcome an addiction, chaos, storms, and the things that bind us. God makes that possible, He opens the vast seas. I hope you enjoy my interpretation. Blessings.

Recuerdo que de niño veía la película Los Diez Mandamientos (1956). Era ya tradicional verla en la semana de pascua. Este evento se encuentra en el capítulo 14 del Libro de Éxodo y habla de cuando Moisés, por mandato de Dios, divide el Mar Rojo para que los israelitas escapen de Egipto. Todos tenemos obstáculos en la vida que a veces pueden parecer imposibles. Creo firmemente que para Dios no hay nada imposible. Él puede abrir los mares, o abrir los caminos donde no los hay. Me encanta recordar experiencias donde parecía que había un mar intransitable, y entonces al empezar a remar, comencé a descubrir oportunidades, y pequeños y significativos milagros. Al final, puedo ver en retrospectiva, que cada paso pequeño, cada camino difícil, fue superado con fe. Puede que necesitemos superar una adicción, el caos, las tormentas, y las cosas que nos aprisionan. Dios hace eso posible, abre los inmensos mares. Que disfruten de mi interpretación. Bendiciones.

Hermosa melodía amigo, de la gran escena su presentación, admirable como puede tocar cualquier melodía con la trompeta, muchos éxitos y que siga brillando en los escenarios de Hive Open Mic.
Esta es tremenda película y tremenda canción, se la he escuchado a mucha gente, pero en trompeta jamás, hasta hoy. Buen trabajo yisus!
Uno de los musicales más poderosos que existen, por su mensaje y por sus canciones. Hermoso sonido entre la trompeta y la melodía del piano, me encanta que lo compartas en Hive Open Mic, gracias por eso tocayo... ¡Que tengas feliz inicio de semana! 🙏
