Halfway through the year... Solstice blessings. Midsummer Musings & a Soft Reawakening... so where have I been? (still here)
It's been a while... so I hope some of you have wondered about me (I know some have)
Here a little short (right from my phone) and some very recent pictures taken during my Summer's solstice personal celebration. We are half way through the year and it's a gentle reminder of what is left to be done :) but for now let's rejoice in the light and I wish you an amazing Summer, thanks so much everyone for the support.
I want to say thanks to the people that has enquired about me and why I have not posted much. I've not made long videos in a while and as I hinted before I had to retreat to deal with a health issue I still navigate. I'm "not gone" but "healing" :) still take these as proof of life and I'm grateful for those of you who have reached out and ask about me. It's a bit personal to disclose here but we are on it. There are good things that happened because of it, I started updating my Spotify and you will notice some of the songs I had published on YouTube or here but were not up will be slowly dropping and updating. But stay tuned for new ones too.
Trying not to to tune to the news... so while the world seems to unravel... here I am playing like a nymph by the creek.
And with further ado... just a quick post as this is a special date for me
Līgo, celebrated on the night of June 23rd to 24th in Latvia, is one of the most magical festivals of the year. Marking the summer solstice—the longest day and shortest night—it honors the sun at its peak and nature at its greenest and fullest. Bonfires are lit, people wear wreaths of oak and wildflowers, and songs are sung all night to celebrate life, fertility, and light. I'm not even Latvian but Spanish but I have been celebrating it for a lot of years now :)
Here is me now (I known I need a better phone and replace my camera) but still, out of the candidness of the moment, I hope you like it. No more holding on to this out of perfectionism.

And here is the old one it refers to and you may remember from a few years ago:
Some years ago I made a cover of this traditional folk song, you can revisit it here:
Full song here:
(this video is the proper recording of the song) but the snippet is for today
Lyrics:
Tumsas māte, miglas māte līgo, līgo,
Aiz ezera velējāsi līgo.
Dun bauzīte, čukst vālīte līgo, līgo,
Ievelk mani niedrājāi līgo.
Goddess of darkness, goddess of fog līgo, līgo,
Was being purified on the other side of the lake līgo.
Reeds are thundering, flowers with long stalks whispering līgo, līgo
Their voices tempt me into the shrubs and reeds by the lake līgo.
Do you celebrate the solstice? what are the traditions in your country?
Similar midsummer celebrations are held across the world:
Latvia – Līgo / Jāņi
Estonia – Jaanipäev
Lithuania – Joninės / Rasos
Sweden – Midsommar Finland – Juhannus
Norway – Sankthans
Denmark – Sankt Hans Aften
Iceland – Jónsmessa
Poland – Noc Kupały
Spain - La Noche de San Juan
Catalonia – La Nit de Sant Joan
Halfway through the year
The solstice is a powerful turning point—the sun begins its slow return south, reminding us of the wheel of the year and the balance between light and dark.
We’ve now reached the halfway mark of the year. The solstice is both a celebration and a wake-up call—a gentle nudge to reflect on how far we’ve come, but also on what still lies ahead. It’s a time to rekindle purpose, catch up on dreams we’ve postponed, and walk forward with renewed energy. There is a lot to be done and this is also a self reminder. I'm going at a pace that is slower than I would like to, but I move forward.
Solstice blessings to you, and may your light shine bright.
he solstice reminds us that while the sun now slowly begins its descent, we still have half a year ahead of us—a whole season of growth and ripening. (Lammas and Mabon) It's a time to reflect: What have you planted this year—ideas, intentions, hopes? What do you still want to nurture and bring to harvest? You reap what you sow (I think a lot about that when I plant my tomatoes in the garden, but I'm not referring to my plants here)
Live slowly, with care. The seeds you tend now will shape your future. It’s okay if things haven’t fully been fruitful yet, there is still time to catch up, to dream, to begin again. Here is where I'm at, hopeful, maybe a bit guilty that I don't seem to meet the pace of the world around me... but everything happens for a reason, even in Nature there are rests.

We should go and spend time in similar places in the summer. They are much cooler and the natural views are also quite beautiful. The song is composed in a very good way.
Thanks. Nature has been an incredible source of healing for me, and also music. These days are being very hot in Spain so it feels very refreshing to go to the creek. But today I'm in the studio just a scorching and melting away. Thanks for listening. I make my own original songs as Priscilla Hernandez on Spotify but this one is traditional folk song from Latvia and not on my own composition but performance
I feel bad for missing celebrating the longest day of 2025 a few days ago, but so happy to read about your experience with it!
All are amazing pictures 🤩
Wow, the photo is really beautiful with nature as the background, and you're so beautiful too!
