An ethereal cover of "This is what it sounds like" from Kpop demon Hunters
I believe I would not like to have such a huge reach. I would be overwhelmed, but It is easy to feel closeness to a struggling artist that finally rise to be seen and heard. I also wanted to dedicate this to a fellow friend and songwriter who likes the movie.
As you know usually only record covers from my childhood and though my original music is priority I enjoy doing these for fun, between more serious works. So here is a short and candid ethereal cover snippet of "This is what it sounds like" from Netflix and huge hit, Kpop Demon Hunters. EJAE's success story brings hope to us artists and I resonate a lot with her story, from invisibility and rejection to winning an Oscar to remind us we should dare to dream in I decided to record this short tribute cover of EJAE's song "This Is What It Sounds Like" from Kpop Demon Hunters OST. It is not the hit "Golden" (I guess most of us can take a break for that one for a while hahah) but the one resonate the most with.
As an artist, her success story hits different. EJAE's journey of enduring, staying true to her voice, and finally being seen? That's the dream we're all quietly chasing. This song speaks to that feeling, the hope that keeps us creating even when no one's watching.
I'm myself an artist, a composer and songwriter pouring my heart for two decades and mostly unknown. Do not misunderstand me, I am perfectly happy and proud of my work but maybe one day I'll get my chance to be seen too, to feel seen. Until then, I'll keep singing and writing songs and her story of rejection, struggle and success is inspiring, and here a short improvised snippet. I filmed with the phone and image is bit off sync at the end.
Héctor is setting up my home studio so I can do uncomplicated candid videos at the studio. I want to add some lights and make it more presentable. I've been buying some lights and I want to try to start broadcasting live as soon as I feel able to. It's been a strange while in my life health wise. Above: a picture of my home studio a while back, now I want to set it up again with lights to broadcast again and make this kind of more candid content more often.
I'm not neglecting my original music either, I'm working on a lot of new songs and releasing many onto streaming that were on youtube but not up on services. It's difficult not to be scared by AI taking over as I mentioned on my previous post, but for those caring about HUMAN artists, you can also find my original songs under 🔍Priscilla Hernandez
