The butterflies on my dress went to a guitar.
I arrived a little late at the Amauta Cultural Center with my husband. We were invited to enjoy the space "Trova y poesía" (Trova and Poetry) that Lorenzo and Irma's family kindly coordinates. A while ago they had already presented the program of the activity and the names of the artists, we joined quietly and although they had not yet played the first piece
I could not know until the end of the show the name of the artist. As usual in these evenings there was Miriela Mijares, Cuban singer-songwriter, troubadour, very attached to her roots, with her guitar and a beautiful repertoire, of an intimate character, related to personal events.
The room arranged with its chairs arranged in the shape of an oval gave everyone the opportunity to feel the protagonist of the meeting. The glass windows were open, letting in the sun and a pleasant breeze. Everything was ready for the music to be played. I missed my friends Luciano and Yaimara who were unable to attend due to other work commitments.
Miriela invited Orlando to sing, the butterflies on my dress became restless and with the first chords they all left, leaving my dress pale and alone. They flew blue and red and yellow. Not one was left on my skirt. I was ecstatic and two tears wet my astonished face. When he finished singing, the butterflies came back to me with applause.
Then there was poetry written by Lorenzo and by husband and wife Carlos and Isabel. Lorenzo gave books to those present, coffee and tea to taste. Another round of songs and more poetry. Miriela with her guitar sang to her grandmother.
Orlando sang again and there was applause and smiles. I also said some tenths. The meeting was about Martí, the most universal of Cubans. Because on January 28 he will have his birthday. It was Martí who said: Music is the most beautiful form of beauty.
Amauta is an important cultural space that has become strong with the presentation of artists of proven quality. Piano concerts, guitar-based downloads, songs and poetry. The delicate conduction of the master poet Lorenzo and the kindness of Irma make the difference.
The Havana Club rum brand also participates as a sponsor of these meetings. A genuinely Cuban rum, part of the culture and identity of this nation. Stimulating responsibility in the ingestion of alcoholic beverages.
Doctors, teachers, poets, workers, university students and musicians regularly attend the event. The cultural environment is always accompanied by works of art as a temporary exhibition. This time the exhibition is by the painter and engraver Iván Morales and is entitled "Atrapando sueños" (Catching Dreams).
The place is decorated with the smell and taste of cinnamon to complete the magic. On top of the piano, scented candles heal the souls of the participants.
I went home smelling like cinnamon and again my butterflies were on my dress. But now I have a new musician friend, a troubadour. Music is the most beautiful form of beauty, as José Martí said. Thank you for accompanying me in this flight of butterflies.

While reading, I had a good feeling you had a truly enchanting experience at the Amauta Cultural Center because the way you described Orlando's performance felt so real that I almost felt the butterflies leaving your dress.
His voice must have been truly mesmerizing. It's wonderful to hear about the unique blend of music, poetry, and art that the event offered. The way you weaved in Martí's quote about music being the most beautiful form of beauty is just perfect.
It seems like a place where magic happens, and the presence of the Havana Club rum and the scent of cinnamon made reading this a pleasure. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Thank you for reading me attentively and enjoying with me this wonderful site. I think my words failed to convey all the emotion I felt. I wanted to put the video but the connection is slow and does not upload in time. A hug and I invite you to Amauta, at least to your digital site centroculturalamauta.es.
Hello Yanerkis, how are you? I see your butterflies, on the dress, and I also think there were butterflies felt inside, flying to the music that was performed there, right? Such a nice place, to have events like this where artists gather and share their talents and moments ;) 🦋
Greetings dear friend. You won't believe me, I was busy putting my cell phone on silent and when the gentleman started to sing I was surprised by his clear, crystalline, beautiful voice and I started to cry. I felt my chest vibrate and I thought it was the butterflies in my dress leaving. Thank you for reading. This site is wonderful. I think it is a sin to exaggerate, I think I am not exaggerating, I don't know. Greetings from Pinar, where hope blooms.
What such a Nice place! It is full of poetry. Do You know what? I like very much the Miriela Mijares music.

What a joy it gives me to see my friend Orlando participating in this peña, he has told me that he likes very much to be invited to these events. We are preparing something together, I look forward to materialize it. Greetings thanks for sharing 😃.
