Hello my dear friends. I am very excited. This Sunday on Cuban television, in a star program that the whole country watches, they are going to sing one of my poems, a décima with a peasant tune. That is a tremendous pride for me.

I have been writing poetry for a long time and I have shared it here. Of course, it's easier for me in Spanish. Because in English the words are more complicated for those who are not English speakers. The singer's name is Yaimara Ramirez Morera and she will sing at 7 pm Cuban time in the program Palmas y cañas. You can see it in real audio on the internet if you can look for it.
The lyrics of the song are very emotional and are dedicated to my mother who has passed away. Listening to the rehearsals made me feel proud but I also cried with emotion.

I have many lyrics in tenths that she has interpreted. Now she wants me to learn to compose songs. I think it's difficult because I can't read music even though the lyrics come easily to me, but I think I need to study a little more. Yaimara Ramírez Morera loves to sing. She has been singing since she was a little girl with her grandfather who played all kinds of music for her and also bought her a piano. Also thanks to her friends Yaimara has a guitar that she has learned to play, but her main instrument is her voice, clean and beautiful.

She has sung many times on television in Palmas y cañas. But this time is special, very special because she will do it with my lyrics.
Hopefully it will be very nice and she will continue to be called for this space.
We go to many activities together with the maestro Luciano who is spectacular, she loves him very much.

They love country music but Luciano is a real encyclopedia, he knows many songs from all countries, Mexican corridos, llaneras, boleros, guajiras, flamenco. Whatever you ask him to interpret.

Luciano has a guitar named Maricela and she is his life companion to put music to the loneliness in which he lives. Of course Yaimara, who lives far away, calls him at every moment to talk, ask him questions or to give him love. I don't think she can't be that nice because of the good person she is.
For now, I am very worried and anxious for Sunday to arrive to see her performance on TV. I hope it looks great and that it continues to make me known as a poet.
