Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away / 坂本龍一さん死去 (ENG/JPN)

I saw the news that Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away last March 28. I learned of this news early today, April 3, and cried as soon as I woke up to see this news. He was a world-renowned musician, who has been active in a wide range of genres from YMO to film music such as "Merry Christmas at the Battlefield" and "The Last Emperor," or rather, not many people have created and performed music in so many genres.
He has also spoken out on political and social issues in addition to music.
I sincerely pray for the repose of Mr. Sakamoto's soul.

I would like to upload one of my favorite Ryuichi Sakamoto songs. When I was in high school, this song was in heavy rotation in the broadcast club during lunch break. I really liked it at the time because it had a light, urban feel to it. But I didn't know the title for a long time.

坂本龍一さんが去る3月28日に亡くなったというニュースを見ました。私がこのニュースを知ったのは本日4月3日の早朝で、起きて早々このニュースを見て泣きました。もう、言わずと知れた世界的な音楽家です。YMOから「戦場のメリークリスマス」「ラストエンペラー」などの映画音楽、その他ジャンルを超えて活躍したというか、これほどジャンルを問わず音楽を創り、演奏してきた人もそうそういません。
また音楽だけでなく、政治・社会問題でも物申してきた人でもあります。
坂本さんのご冥福を心よりお祈り申し上げます。

私の好きな坂本龍一さんの曲をひとつだけアップしておきます。この曲は確か高校の頃昼休みに放送部の面々がヘビーローテーションしていた曲です。軽やかで都会的な感じがして当時すごく好きでした。でも長らくタイトルを知りませんでした。
