Three Tune Tuesday - Ultravox - Chris Cross ~ Birthday Boy #99

I almost let Tuesday slip by without sharing three more songs with you here, as has become our custom, at the invitation of @ablaze !

For today’s birthday boy, I want to tell you about Christopher Thomas Allen. Born in 1952, this renowned British bassist was a member of the new wave band “Ultravox.” Chris passed away at the age of 71 quite recently, in March 2024.

Chris was born in Tottenham, London, and began his musical career playing in various bands, with major influences including Small Faces and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

He later joined the band Stoned Rose but enrolled in a psychology program at Preston.

The band was hugely successful between 1980 and 1986, reaching the top ten album charts seven times.

Many of you have surely heard of this band, and even more of you will recognize at least one of the tracks I’m sharing with you today.
