Three Tune Tuesday ~ Louis Armstrong ~ Birthday Boy #102
Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!
Good evening and happy Tuesday to all music lovers!
As has become customary, I’m here today to talk about yet another birthday boy. And today, it just so happens to be one of the greatest artists of all time in this art form… I’m talking about Louis Armstrong.
Born in 1901, he passed away all too soon at the age of 69, but his entire musical legacy will be forever remembered by humanity. No matter how many decades pass, there will surely always be someone who remembers seeing a vinyl record at their aunt and uncle’s house—or their grandparents’—with Louis on the cover, usually holding his famous trumpet, the instrument that catapulted him to worldwide fame.
With a smile as bright as his voice—which had a distinctive timbre and unique depth and resonance—he inspired everyone who heard him, even those with a hard of hearing, to hum or whistle the famous melodies that have spanned many generations!
An American vocalist, trumpeter, and jazz singer, his long five-decade career left an indelible mark on an era, yet his music is still listened to and danced to even in some ballrooms all over the place.
His scat singing style—in which he used onomatopoeia instead of words—was what set him apart from all the others who were shining at the time on national music charts around the world. In fact, that style was widely used by an artist who emerged later—during my teenage years—named Scatman John. Who remembers him and his rapping that we all used to imitate:
Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop!
And to wrap up this post, I wanted to ask all of you how your week has been. I haven’t had much time yet to catch up on all your comments, and unfortunately—even though I’ve been able to read some of your posts—I haven’t had much time left to write a brief reply to them. I’ll see if I can get to them by the end of this week.
And to wrap things up, here are three of my favorite Louis Armstrong songs! I hope you enjoy them!

Happy Birthday to the man. He really was something special and lives on his music. Funnily enough my wife many years ago as a wee bairn wanted to learn the trumpet because of him. Happy Birthday up there Louis from a fellow Leo!
Wow! And she started to learn the trumpet? Does she plays a instrument now-a-days?
Impressive how can someone can influence the other, without even knowing it, and sometimes, after their life.
The true ripple effect!
Yeah she played as a kid, but then parents got divorced and her mother of course would not let her do it as it was her father who suggested it!
And does she misses that skill, never to late to learn it again, right?
Couple of months ago I decided that I want to play guitar again. I've never been a good guitar player, but I remember in my youth to be a activity that I found much fun! And to play it has long as I was listening to my fav songs!
Let's see if the procrastination (that is huge in my case) doesn't gets the credits!
Have a great week!
